Anybody had any problems with Bally 6000 BV's?? I put in a known BV from an S2000, software changed of course, 13-ss by the way, Power everything up, BV Runs cycle and machine starts and is ready to play but green lights (arrows) are not on and won't accept bills.  No error codes and insert credit light is blinking. I cleared the machine twice hoping for a fix but no Luck!!! ARRRGH! banghead Weird thing is I had this happen on another machine and and finally it started working but don't remember what I did. Any thoughts??? Oh one other thing I was trying to get hand pay to work on these machines a while back and a69mopar had told me to change a few settings (61=2, 56= 0) but when I changed 56 to 0 the machine would not accept bills until I changed it back. (this was another machine) So is there possibly a setting I am missing like that?  Normally a clear would fix this though I would think...
Thanks,
Tommy

By the way, What is that switch for? If I add coin handling do I need to change that switch? Or leave it for both coin and bills?
Thanks,

the switch shuts of coin and bill acceptance.  It is good to use if you don't want anyone to play the machine but want to leave it turned on.

Thanks,

Wayne,

Do you know anything about setting up the coin handling? I am a little stumped. I picked up an optic from Terry but they did not send me the back prism. When I inquired Randy said there was no back to the coin optic but the manual states otherwise. Also I had a harness that was on another machine but there was no place to plug in the optic just the comparator.  (first Picture) and there was one in the machine but does not have as many wires that plug into the comparator (second Picture) and it doesn't turn on. I think I need a new harness.  Are there certain settings that need to bew made on the Bally as Well?

The prism is attached as seen in the pic, well on the other side of it.  check the repair job on your harness, maybe you'll find a bad joint.

Thanks,
Wayne

Yeah I see it through the holes I don't have that I need to get one. Also the harness was not originally like that I was trying something but it still did not work before. On the first one there are five wires, on the second only three. When I hook up the first one with five the light comes on on the comparator. When I use the three wire one it does not.  The weird thing is what is the first harness for seeing how it does not have a tail for the Optic? Also what is that plate towards the end with the hole in it? Do I really need that? Never mind is that an insulator? I insulated the screws.

I find those prisms hard to find.
I need to search for an alternative.
Could I make one out of a couple pieces of mirrors?
or would that be blowing smoke?

I suppose if the mirrors were at the proper angles, they may work.
