Fruit machine my tail feathers !!

« on: August 18, 2010, 10:59:44 PM »

My S2000 Vision has the LCD screen on the left side of the top glass. If I get a glass kit and the LCD is positioned in the center what do I need to move the LCD?

You currently have a right mount. You will need a center mount. They are hard to find, but they are out there.

I'd check with the vendors at the top of the page and keep an eye on eBay.

Good Luck!

Is there screw holes on the right side so you can move it there?
I looks to me like it's already positioned in the center?
Or do you have to acquire and entirely different mounting bracket altogether?

Bunker

The pictures are MrBellMan's Vision with the LCD mounted in the center. My Vision has it mounted over there -------------->. The bracket is screwed into the side of the cabinet. There don't seem to be any mounting holes in the base of the top near the center.

I'll look and post pictures tomorrow.

It also looks like I'll need a bigger light. The one I have is much smaller that the one MrBellMan has.

There are 2 different center mounts.  The one in his photo is for a printer along side the reels.  If your printer is in the top box you need a different mount.

Here is where the LCD is now.

There is no TITO unit in the machine.

This is the floor of the top. Will I need to drill holes to mount the center mount for the LCD?

If so are the screws holding the top to the base at the 4 corners? I can see the screws at the front, but the speakers obscure everything behind them.

This falls under a "Major Modification" Dorothy.
I don't know if you'd want to undertake this.
It involves just about completely dis-assembling the entire topbox!
If the newly drilled holes are merely a fraction off - you will extremely disappointed in the end results.
Plus, I'm not entirely sure what the whole LCD is hanging on to...the right-side hinge?
And is that hinge bolted to the wall of the cabinet or an upright of the LCD bracket?

I'd rather you get the correct  center-mounted bracket for your
LCD screen/computer as Idesign suggested...
Get on the horn and start calling up all the vendors listed on the top of the homepage of NLG.

Bunker

You surprise me. For someone who's tag line is "Have a great day tinkering....!" to suggest I buy an off the shelf part sounds completely out of character.

 BUT .......

Great advice and advice I will take.

There are no empty holes in the base of the top and I am assuming that the center mount will not just slip over the current mount's holes. I looked at Rob's pictures but I'm not exactly clear of what goes where.

haha! Exactly Munch!  rotflmao

Let me say that I'm lucky to have all sorts of tools and can pretty
much build a machine using parts from around the world.
If I had a Vision machine, I'd try it, post you the exact measurements
and certain modifications to get it to work.

With the glass over it, no one will know the difference and it will be fully functioning AND look good!
But since I don't have one on hand to mess around with -
I cannot recommend you to do try drilling holes and repositioning that LCD since you may
not have done it before and I don't have a clue what your skill level is at doing modifications.

I'm NOT saying you can't do it but I 'd really hate to hear you try it and find out it's all messed up.
I would feel blamed for helping you screw up your machine.
That's why I recommend you to try and locate the correct bracket needed to reposition your LCD screen.

bust gut laughing Listen....now I'm not saying I would ever send out a machine this way...but this is for someone's personal use.  What matters is that the LCD shifts over and what is hidden behind the glass doesnt really matter right?  Velcro and Duct tape is in order here....just shift over, pin it down with some Velcro and add lots of diagonal bracing with duct tape...make it nice and centered and then quick put the glass on before you think about it to much.
