I really didn't like the poker glass that I had in my I-Game so I decided to become proactive.  I wanted the blue game king glass but that seemed very difficult to come by.  Today I went to the glass shop and picked up glass for the belly and made my own!

I'm happy with the results.    Tomorrow I'll see if the guy can cut the top glass.  I don't know if he'll be able to make a round piece.    stir the pot / get cooking

With a piece of cut glass it was actually pretty simple.   I printed the image on back-light paper and taped it to the glass.  A friend told me how to adjust the print quality so it would look good.   Then you slap a car window tint on the back of the printout for nice rich colors.

Munch, what size paper did you use? Can you elaborate when you said back light paper and what tweak printer settings did your friend say to use? Did you laminate it? Pics would be great especially with the window tint application.

It's really nothing special to do.  I used inkpress backlit film.  For this I used 13X19 Super B.

For the tinting I just used jet black auto tint from my local auto store.  I didn't laminate or anything like that.  Just taped it to the back of the glass.

The break fluid worked like a charm  -  except the red got everywhere and my wife was not to pleased.

Here's the finished product.    I added the titles of 044 games that I hope to get in the future.

Tacman wanted to know the printer settings.
There are many types of printers out there.
My answer to that would be to mess around with plain paper first.
When you like what you see on plain paper, then play around with the sizes
until you get it to print the right size needed to fit your "Picture Frame" ... Crazy
then do the final print onto this expensive film.
I'm using roll paper on an Epson R1900 shown below...
It does stuff big enough for our games but I wish it was bigger
so I can redo my old flaking pinball machine glass...  bawling>>>

Hi

Since many of us don't have a printer that can handle paper large enough for most slot machine applications, do you think a printer like Kinkos (Now FedEx) could do this ?

Hi

I'm not sure if this a message hijack or not. If so, please excuse me.

My "I Dream Of Jeannie" has a short reel glass. The black glass and plastic TITO cover bother me, they just don't match the theme. I have been thinking of getting a piece of glass cut to cover the entire area and then back it with paper the same color as the reel glass. Since back lighting is not possible because of the the LCD I don't think Backlit Film is necessary. The part of this that has me flummoxed is the transparent film over the "WINNER PAID" and "CREDITS". I would like them to match the VFD (?) on the reel glass.

What do you recommend?

Also the player tracking area on the top is ugly. I've thought of just cutting a mirror and putting it over the plastic. What sorts of things have you guys done to mod this area?

The credit display panel are made with red LEDs.
It's impossible to change unless you can find a credit display that has blue LEDs?
Remove the red credit panel and install a long IDOJ reel glass?

As far as the tracking area...a  neatly cut mirror is nice. 
Though, I prefer chrome... yes

That's actually the area where guys install progressive displays really.
