Hello to all,

I'm looking for as much info on the WMS 55x and BB that i can find. I already have an operators manuals but i need more info on configurations, game versions, I/O pin-outs schematics, SAS config...ect. My goal is to create a cashless backend for the WMS and other SAS compatible games. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there conrad

Is the back end system something you want to do for home use or do you intend launching into the big wide world of casinos? If your answer is the latter you will need more than info available from us guys I would suspect. SAS for example is the industry standard protocol used by the major players in the cashless system world, it will be hard to get all info you would need for the exception coding etc. etc. Igt might even pop round if they find out you are delving into their baby. Not trying to frighten you off mate but let me know exactly what you intend doing in the months to come. Most machines behave the same with SAS commands when related to a connected system reading SAS, a few differences when it comes to long or short poll requests such as meters or cash transfer events.

I did work for Igt many years ago and also did a spell with WMS, but info I have from the 90's would not be of interest to you as Igt are up to or around the v. 6.02, have been working on my system now for decades and still call it "Ozzy's Off Line System" due to the fact I do not have the $,000,000.00 available to pursue such a dream.

good luck anyway..............from the D O O M   OF  G L O O M

Ozzy     PS all reading STILL ACTIVE IN MEXICO but bogged down with 3 projects like you cannot beleive.

Hello Ozzy,

I work for a gaming company that operates proprietary games and a cashless card and TITO system in the US and in Central American casinos. Our system works great with our games and a few other manufactures. What we are moving into is a card or AFT system that will work with IGT, Bally, and WMS games as well as our own. The Williams is one of the first to be coded to and WMS unlike IGT does not want to give any information to use unless we purchase games from them. We have WMS, IGT..ect  games that we own currently so why would we purchase more? We are under agreement with IGT and GSA and they have provided us with most of the info on the IGT games and SAS but WMS does not support the 55x anymore and will not help. We are basically stumped unless I get more information. We can always jump to the IGT coding but we have more Williams’s games than IGT. If anyone here has more game documentation or SAS 5 knowledge with WMS or any other games and willing to do contract work we are interested!!!!

Here is what our engineer is having problems with now…i attached the notice he talks about

“What I need to know right now is how to wire a Williams 55x video with a printer for SAS. According to the WMS manual the version of the firmware on the game I have access to should be able to talk SAS 5. I have configured the game for SAS 5. However the game does not respond to polls. Farther more if no SAS host is connected to the game the game should be "chirping" its address. I do not see the address "chirp" with my host nor my Oscope ( on any pin of the host connector). 'The Williams manual under "Host Communications" says "Note: If the game also has a printer refer to applicable printer bulletin for connections." What I need to determine is rather I am missing something with the WMS or if the comm port on the game is just flat out broken. So what I really am looking for is someone who knows how to wire up a WMS (with an Ithaca printer) to SAS.”

I would def. look at EFT for transfer of monies both in and out and forget about AFT, SAS 6.02 is the best protocol to be working with at the moment. WMS works with both protocol possibilities EFT, AFT. They have on their back plain pcb 3 ports think is correct "ports for SAS or host comm's. Do you have the SAS simulator?? if not contact me by email, would like to see coded responses to what you are receiving from WMS games (if any) steve.kelsey101@gmail.com  As far as hooking up printer, will speak with a very good friend of mine that works for that company, sure we can resolve this one.
  cheers
