David, that deluxe sound card works on the V7000 machine.  I installed one in my Gamemaker to take advantage of the deluxe sounds of the previously mentioned games.  Only 2 connections required as I recall.

 Scratch Head Scratch Head

3:34pm  The manual only discusses the card with respect to the 7200. ...

...

4:30pm  Okay, you made me dive into the schematics, and you are right!  Hail Hail applause  Jumping for Joey Ecstatic / Top Award

I've pulled the details for JP10 from the 7000 and 7200 schematics and they match, so we're good! I've also looked at the schematic for the sound card and the extra single wire simply requires +12V.

I am currently documenting every +12V source on the V7000 backplane and will then look at my machine to see which one(s) are free.

I'll be back...  Crazy

<ADD> The following pins are sources of +12V on the V7000 backplane:

P1        pin 66     96 pin connector [3x32]

JBILL     pin 11     26 pin connector [2x13]
          pin 24

JC10      pin 22     40 pin connector [2x20]

JEXP      pin 3      20 pin connector [2x10]

JPOWER    pin 14     15 pin connector [1x15]

JDPROG    pin 6      12 pin connector [1x12]

Okay, the best location for the single wire is:

JBILL     Pin 24    There is a harness in the plug, but this pin is not in use.

Alternates:

JPOWER    pin 14    The large molex plug would allow one to tap into this pin, but it's in use.
JEXP      pin  3    Connector is free, but is inconveniently located at the top of the backplane, behind the MPU and the meters.

Jeff, thanks for getting me off my a** to figure this out. applause applause I already gave you a K+ earlier.

Just to add for those reading in the future, the 26 (2x13) pin connector on the deluxe sound board harness plugs into JP10 on the backplane.

The two wire plug goes to a speaker. You can get an extra speaker or tap into the existing speaker (although I haven't tried that yet. Tongue Out)

Thanks Bunker, but it's CH's puppy.  frying pan  CaptainHappy Odie    rotflmao rotflmao

It's just a 14" Gamemaker. There are some pictures around here somewhere in some thread or another... stir the pot / get cooking
Actually, I ended up taking an entire set of pictures of this little project just for you, but I haven't posted them because after everything I've done, the board still just sits there.  Duh! Crazy

I was hoping that I could run the regular sounds through that board even without a special game installed, but either that can't be done or my setup still isn't right. I left the original speaker hooked up and attached the sound card to another speaker, then turned on DIPSW2 switch 2. With regular games installed, I get no sound out of either speaker. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet, do a full clear, and install a dedicated game to see what happens. IF it works, I'll post pictures of what I did...

SF garfield

BTW, what idiot at Bally put two different sized tabs on the end of the Deluxe Sound Board harness for the speakers? hissy fit hissy fit One is large and the other small. All the Bally speakers that I've seen use the large tabs for both leads. What were they thinking? Must be a government operation.  knockout loser

After making my own harness to mate with the single 12V plug, JUST so I wouldn't have to modify the stock harness, I ended up cutting up the small tab so I could connect it to a speaker, and I'll end up replacing it now. Duh!

Does anyone have any pictures of the deluxe sound board installed in the V7000 and how it connects to the motherboard?
