Jennings 1 cent slot machine

Hello all... I just had to share my lastest find. Its a Jennings 1 cent slot machine. I won it in an on line auction locally. It's in great shape except the front glass is scratched. I'm not sure what year it is, so I have posted pick if anyone might know..

Thanks for the link to the pic and information. I won the machine, not the stand...  I liked it because it was a Penny slot, and you don't seen to find them very often.. It only cost me a little over $400.00 for it. I think it's a good investment...

I,ll  bet it,s a import from england  wasn,t a us  penny still someone stuck  a 1 cent sticker on it , most likely was a 6d coin  in the 60,s noone would waste the space or fee,s running a 1 penny at a time slot

I beg to differ... I remember being in Vegas back in the 70's and they still had some penny machines in a few of the casinos. I like the look of this machine, bright, shinny, chrome look of the era...

What You have there--Is a Jennings "Galaxy" As it says--Introduced In 1963.
Jennings made Made Different Models In This Case, A "Galaxy And Casino Chief" Are Most Common, But Several Different Glass' Were available.
If It indeed Takes An American Penny it is A Real Penny Machine.
They made them In All denominations, Up to A Silver Dollar.

1 cent  plate don,t match and payout card looks like pays have been changed , but I have been wrong once or twice either way you got a good deal

I'm inclined to agree it's spent some time in England. Jennings were extremely popular there into the late 60s, but not many of these were sold in the US once the Bally EM came out. I can't comment on the payout table but the belly glass panels are wrong, they're not original and I'd bet money they weren't made by Jennings. The old English sixpence is extremely close in size to the US 1 cent.

Thanks for the message Op-Bell... Well ether way, if it came from England, or it it's all original 1 cent slot machine, it works perfect and I'm happy with it... I like its look with the large chrome front with the Indian Head logo on it...

I would be happy with it also. Call me an old curmudgeon, but I can't bring myself to get enthusiastic about these new-fangled computer games. I like a machine with resistance in the handle, where pulling the handle does more than just close a switch.

OK Boys,

Please move aside and let me have some elbow room to wiggle in here and add my two cents worth . What a nice machine "AMACHANIC" and a great name you have here, All Great Stuff! OK,  That being said, I could see how you put you heart into winning great slot machine,  So.... I did the same to provide you with about 20 to 25 pages of information on it tonight, which includes a lot of manual stuff and some history. This machine is of the Jennings Galaxy and Casino line of machines spanning from 1963 to almost 1970. This line of machine are all open front type of games, but as you can see you have a coin head mounted on the left side of the top, later machines of this type had the coin head on the right, and used a coin acceptor, yours is on the left and uses the early coin escalators which were used on the old mechanical machines just prior to this model. This to me makes this early machine more unique and more desirable to me anyway, being it has the early mechanical coin escalator like the Sun Chiefs had. Hi Jackpot.   Thanks for the information on my Jenning slot machine. The only thing I didn't see was a penny machine. I like these older style machines. They come from a time that has been forgotten and moved past. These machines had style, not just bright lights and loud noises of the news machines. When times were slower and less complacated..

Hi people.

I've just inherited a Jennings Galaxy slot machine.

It was pretty filthy when we got it, but a night of foam cleaner has turned what I thought was bronze to shiny silver.

She was pulled out of a mining working mens club (as it was due for scrappage) and has lived in a home for the last 40 years.

Apart from the outside being filthy (but coming up lovely) the internals are all working fantastically. The mechanism seems still greased and works absolutely fine. I even dropped the jackpot last night and had the front glass drop it bounty. I was inshock as there had been much speculation over whether it was decorative or not.

Wondering if you guys have any insight, I'm kinda wow'd by this thing.

also, if Jackpot is still about, that Sendspace link doesn't work  -if there's another way I could grab that info it would be amazing

I've not found another bandit with the jackpot on display in the middle so I'm assuming she's not that common...

its a english club slot note the 2 pulls they could only payout so much so the gave 2 pulls per coin in mid 70,s we bought a load of  machines from london and had many of those they clean up nicely

I must of missed the two pulls somewhere, I don't see it on the award card, and this one is only one pull for a coin. Than would be cool getting two pulls for one coin.

The Galaxy I have is very much two pulls for the one coin (shilling or old 5p)
