I have a old Bally Gamemaker with a JCM 200 head that will not take singles?  other bills ok.  Any strange dip switch settings that I may have forgotten?  They are all in one direction.  Both banks of switches.  I don't have another 044 head around to try.  Hints please.

For ID044, all switches should be off. For ID045, DIPSW1 switch 10 should be turned on. DIPSW2 is used for testing and according to all of the manuals they should all be off. However, I will tell you that for some reason, DS2 switch 1 is turned on on my machine and it works. I don't know why.

What denomination have you set? If it's over $1, that would explain why dollar bills were being rejected. What mains do you have? Are they multi-denominational and/or tokenized?

What's weird is that it's more common for a dbv to take singles and none of the higher bills. Scratch Head  I doubt the head is bad if it is taking all other denoms.
It might need a cleaning or alignment.

If you clean it, use a q-tip moistened with either plain water or with slightly soapy water using dish washing liquid. Do not use alcohol on the heads or the optics as it will react with the plastic and cloud the optics, making things worse. You can use alcohol on the rubber belts on the transport. If you use soapy water, follow with a clear water q-tip, then dry the excess.

BTW, the DBV200 should take bills in all four directions. Does yours?

it may be the head.  Did you check the bill set up on the machine, it may be set to not take $1 bills.

Thanks,

Stat was correct about all the settings: DS1= switch 1=$1, 2=$5, 3=$10, 4=$20, 5=$50, 6=$100, 7-8-9- not apply, 10=I/F
whereas on= ID045P, off= ID044P      when the switch is in the on position, it disables the acceptance of that denomination.

I would try and recycle the number 1  switch a few times and see if that would cure your problem.

Atlantic City casino machines (and perhaps other jurisdictions?) do not accept $1 bills.  Might you have New Jersey jurisdiction software in your machine that rejects $1s?

Now there's an out of the box possible solution!  Hail applause applause

I'm interested in knowing why they're setup to reject ones.  Scratch Head

The casinos up this way have their machines set up to not accept single dolllar bills. They want you to at least put a 5 in them. Prolly figuring you'll spend the whole 5 at once in the machine and then move on.

Guess one of my machines originated in New Jersey. It does accept $1 now that it has been relocated a little further south.
