I am new to slots so hopefully I am posting this in an ok spot. I have a Triple Diamond S+ 1996 and it was from a casino. The unit has a small display in the upper left with a players card slot that did not initally work but now is working. The display used to just flicker and flash green lines scrolling.. Upon taking it apart I found the following. The display says on it PT V5.2 and a board that says Acres Gaming VFD V1.3 1994 along with a little black box behind the bill acceptor that is velcro'd there and it also says Acres Gaming. The display now works and says first "Version 1.3" at power up and after that "Exp Link Down" and all of a sudden not sure if this is related the Coin Drop counter only just continues to run and is not stopping... it is on arond 750000 or something like that. Can I use this setup and connect to a pc as I believe this is to track accounting, etc in a casino.. or can I adjust with a CHAMII board and use it as a display... Any help on making this useful would be great. Also what is up with the Coin Drop counter running continuously?? How do I stop it or do I wait till it cycle's back to 000000???

You could always disconnect the player tracking system...
It needs power for one thing and somewhere there's a plug.
Pictures would really help here.
Remember, the more you show us - the more we will tell you! yes

By the way, congratulations on your first slot machine and
welcome to newlifegames!

Thanks for the warm welcome!!! I'm a bit of a techie so this is a new venture for me.... already disecting all the workings.. Smiley Sorry I had forgotten the pics... I'd just like to do something with the display to pimp this up.. I'll try workin on the EPROM from either this box or the other board that connects to the display (don't have a picture of that yet..) The reader is missing for the player card so I'd need to get one of those.. Just curious if I can again get this networked to a PC to see what sort of stuff I can do with it. Again regarding the Coin Drop.. I just disconnected the counter connector because it will end up driving me nuts.. There are no error messages and everything is operating fine.. Perhaps it was down for some time and now that it is back up it is making up for uncounted coins??? Not sure what is going on with the counter issue. Hope the pics tell something...

P.S. I have this baby right near my SNK Neo Geo with the 120-in 1 cartridge and the newest bios with cheats for that.. but that's a whole other topic and I'm getting off track.

Thanks again!!! Smiley Any info would be GRRREAT

Gonna try posting these pics.. Hopefully I do it right...

I never seen a display with the red dipswitches on it like yours...
Judging by the letter graphics on the display - yours is fairly new! yes
Even the card reader slot is lit up!  smiley drool
