I'm bored. The 4 Bally 6000 that were not shopped out that I got from Jim from Bettor Slots
are about finished, can't do much more on them. I enjoyed working on them now I don't know what to do with my spare time.
Guess I'll have to look for some more that have to be shopped out.

Tell you what....come pick up a S2000.  I will pre-rig it for you with at least 5 bad parts, tricky ones.  This time criteria will be that I won't help like on the Bally's, only NLG members can help you to troubleshoot, and you can obtain parts only from EBay and not vendors that might help you along too quickly.  Could be a fun project for all and will keep you busy for a month.  Tongue Out

Your cold. LOL. You & the guy's on NLG did give me A LOT OF HELP.
I always liked IGT but now I'm leaning toward Bally. You told me they were not that hard
to work on .
If you were closer I'd take you up on it. That was a long day for an old man when I went to your place.
Thanks again Jim for everything.

what you need is a few bad boards to troubleshoot, after that, a few more and after about a thousand boards worth of experience, you can post specific and to the point repair logs like channelmaniac does.  Building knowledge is a great thing.

You should take Jim up on his offer, it's not everyday that someone offers a free machine, perhaps he feels like you earned it with the completion of the 4 others.  Kind of like a graduation gift.

LOL....

Okay...how about this one.  You buy a working machine and I will ship it to you completely disassembled in 4 boxes via UPS.  I'll include a couple of diagrams and you can put it back together piece by piece.  Would be kind of like a fun puzzle.

Hehe....I could disassemble every part possible down to the last nut, screw, and harness then put them into random bags and boxes....like a shuffled deck of cards.  I promise I won't clean or polish a thing even though my OCD makes me want to  Tongue Out.  Not only would you have the fun learning experience putting the puzzle back together, but I think it would make an excellent post for you on NLG where you can put up photos of the entire process.  It would be educational for many now and in the future.

Well if you get bored of the base machine - start investigating linked progressives. Thats what I have done.

If you want to get into other strange things you can take the output of the Jackpot Bell, use it to drive a relay and hook up a light show of sorts.

My plan is to dim the basement lights and run some tri-color rope lighting around the room.

And don't forget that you can sell all of the extra parts left over after reassembling the machine. arrow  rotflmao rotflmao rotflmao

For me - I find it extremely fun to assemble a machine from scratch.
But learning what makes everything tick is even more of a blast.
I absolutely never get bored with any part that comes my way -
In my mind, it's just opens up another frontier to explore!!  yes

I decided to try & update some of the machines I have. You guys seem to do a good job of doing it to yours.
I'll have to start on one & see where it takes me.

I was posting under wrong heading. This is my new project. Updating IGT 2000 3 reel to 3reel with bonus reel.
This is how far I am. I will not be doing anything for a few day's since my wife is in hospital again and I'm waiting for parts
for slot. When Things get under control here I'll update.
Installing a Super Stars Spin. If I get it working I think it will be a great game.
I got sag out of door. While door was stripped did a twist on it & drilled screw holes on cabnet side one size bigger to give adjustment. It fits perfect now. Also removed decal on door. Going over all wires & retieing. Going to put other top box on since mine was 9" & what I'm putting in is 16".
I will post pics when I have time.
