1 Unplug the machine, remove the board plug in the KEY17 chip in the ??? socket. SB Base socket

2 insert the board and turn the machine on - look for 2 lights. Turn machine off. Yup!

3 Exchange Key17 chip with ???? chip Yes...change w/base chip

4 Turn the machine on with the door open ?? closed ??? It's better to do this when with an open door.
Be ready with one hand on the reset key or the noise will be deafening!

5 step through the menu until I come to the Netplex portion and make the changes. Yes

6 Turn the machine off and then on and pat meyself on the back after posting pictures. Leave it on! Play it!  rotflmao

Fruit machine my tail feathers !!

« Reply #28 on: October 30, 2010, 05:53:26 PM »

Hi

Okay. Thanks to iDesign's talent I now have the topper wired correctly and installed.

I changed out the SB chip with the KEY17 chip. Got the 2 top lights. Replaced the SB chip and turned on the machine. I turned the reset key and got the menu on the display. The menu only has -

1 - Accounting
2 - History
4 - I/O Test

No other options. Could the problem be the Indiana chips?

What do I need to do ?

 As always Thanks

instead of using the audit key, open the main door and press the button on the mpu.  This will get you into the full menu.

Thanks Mopar.

iDesign reminded me that I also needed to have NO CREDITS in the machine.

To quote California's leaded --- I'll be back

Actually after you keychip and get the 2 lights and replace your SB you boot the machine back up and just wait, it'll boot into the keychip menus. You move about the menus with the cash out button and bet 1 credit button.. enter the option with spin reels and exit with the max bet button

I used the reset button (I did not clear the credits)

7             Key Chip Configuration
7.3          Progressive
7.3.1       Controller Select
7.3.1.1     Game 1
7.3.1.1.1.  $.25

  Game 1 - Denom $.25 - Level 1 - None, Disabled

7.3.2        Progressive Display Setup

  None

7.3.3 Stand Alone Setup

   - Nothing no response

 - Dorothy

[EDIT] - I found option # 4.3 Auto configure NETPLEX devices.

Now the NO DATA message does not scroll across the Spectrum - The Spectrum is completely blank. I looked at the 7.3 menu again and nothing changed.

Brianz

I can never get to the STAND ALONE option.

There are NO CREDITS on the machine

Under 4.3 the "SPECTRUM DISPLAY: INSTALLED" is displayed

7.1.4.1

I press Spin and "WAMM" is displayed and all the lights except for MAX BET go out. No chance to change anything here - just go back up the menu.

7.1.4.2

I press Spin and nothing happens except a 'click'

7.1.4.3 is NEVER displayed

Hey Y'All

Finally got it up and running. The problem was all between my ears, once I sat down and thought about what I was doing wrong  the answer came to me. Don't press the RESET button any more, put in the KEY17 chip !

After that the configuration went smooth and easy.

 Thanks -

FORRHOUSE for selling me the topper from your personal stash. It is beautiful condition and you were great to work with.

iDesign for making a harness for my machine and getting it back to me in 24 hours. What a professional job.

Brianzz for not calling me a dummy.

and everyone on NLG wh sat with me through the evolution and installation of my IDOJ Spectrum priject.
