There's five poker games in my PE+ Test Unit...

1] Bonus Poker
2] Double Double Bonus Poker
3] Deuces Wild
4] Double Bonus poker
5] Jacks Or Better

In your honest opinion,
which one is the most fun to play?

My favorite  is the Double Double Bonus  poker.   I use Bob Dancer's strategy cd/game to practice and then play that at the casino when I am there.  I  also like Let It Ride, though.

The first time I ever played Shockwave, I hit the $1000 4-of-a-kind.  Never again since.

Mark, for home use either Deuces Wild or DDB.  In the casino, I play JoB or BP to get the 2-for-1 payback on the 2 Pair hands, which makes my money last longer.

For what it's worth, you have the wrong CAP chip in that board, which is why the menu looks all brown and stuff.  It should look like this:

(Image from Stolistic)

The CAP chip determines the color pallet that the game has available.  While your game will function correctly with the wrong CAP chip, some colors may be painted incorrectly on the screen.  CAPX2174 works for that multi-game set -- there may be others, too.

My vote would be Double Double Bonus as well. You'll be shooting for 4 Aces with a kicker for 1/2 a royal. My favorite is Triple Double Bonus, where you get the payout of a full royal with the 4 Aces & kicker.

Deuces Wild can be fun, but it plays completely differently from standard non-wild games. If you focus on playing that type of game and still play others, you have to keep the strategies straight.

I use an old version of Wolf VP, but have seen Dancer's VP program. They're very similar and both come recommended. Each has some pros and cons. They are the only two VP choices I know of that are worth their salt.

Stat garfield

P.S. If you want to learn how to count cards, want to improve your game, want to practice under differing conditions, or want to analyze blackjack to the point of nausea, there is only one choice: Norm Wattenberger's QFIT software. The basic practice program is CVBJ and is not too expensive (just under $100). The real power is in CVData and CVCX. They get expensive, but in my case, they've made me more money that they cost, including upgrades. His software has bugs here and there, but he is VERY responsive to fixing them. In one case, he fixed a bug I reported and had the fix uploaded to his website within a couple of hours.
Just for the scoffers, I have no affiliation whatsoever; I'm just a satisfied customer.

Frugal Video Poker, created by James Wolf of Wolf Video Poker, used to be the gold standard of VP trainers.  It's old-school software and graphics (although it does have 3/5/10-play options), but you can't beat today's price for it: FREE.  It's now available as a free download from his site:

http://www.wolfvideopoker.com/FVP.htm

Especially because of the price, I highly suggest it as a great way to learn correct strategy on your choice of games and paytables.  It also lets you print strategy charts for any game, any paytable.

That's what I use, but I'd probably pay for the newer version if I actually played much VP in casinos for real money. arrow I paid for my copy back in the day when it was the "gold standard". rotflmao

The print strategy feature is very useful for casino play. The printouts are 8 1/2"x11", but what I do is use my copier to reduce the printed chart to a suitable card size. I then use my handy dandy $30 Costco laminator to create my own strategy cards to take to the casinos. Unlike blackjack, you can sit there with your strategy card and they won't say a word -- at least in Nevada.

But it's generally a lot cheaper to play VP at the casino than slots at the casino, as VP payback percentages are generally a lot higher than most slots.  propeller

Its risk / reward. The pays are more frequent but the top awards are a lot less.

According to the IGT article that was posted they try and make the newer video slots give about 18min of play for $20.
Personally I like the interactive nature of Video Poker more than slots even with bonus games.

Good point.  Personally, I'm keen on winning $100 for quad aces, and $1000 for the elusive Royal Flush (quarter Bonus Poker).  Sure, it's not millions, but it's still a nice chunk of change.

That's why I stick with blackjack most of the time. I will never buy in for two hundred and leave the table with tens of thousands or millions, but I'll win more than I lose, will have fun doing it (counting relaxes me) and won't have to face a W2G unless I win over $10k in a day, which is something I can control.

I still play the occasional slot, and the slightly more occasional VP. They're fun to play as long as it's not for too much money, and I don't mind dropping $20 into a WOF every once in a while for a chance at a big payout.  But to tell the truth, the biggest kick I get in a casino is going to the cage with more chips than I paid for and cashing out a winner. That always makes my night.

I just checked both boards I have.
It looks like I have CAPX1321 in both of them.
I need to find a CAPX2174 like you're saying.... bawling
