Does anyone have the pinouts for the Touchscreen connector on the motherboard in a WMS 550?

Am in the middle of converting to LCD w/ a 3M 7720 controller (I've got the pinouts for that beastie, just not the WMS!) and I believe that the 550 motherboard's touchscreen connector is a straight serial, but I'm not sure...

Hello,

I think this is what you were looking for? Let me know if this works. I have more I/O schematics for the 550 if you need them.

Did you get that going?  I didn't think it was possible to adapt anything other than 3m Microtouch systems with the correct firmware to work on WMS platforms.

Guess it must have had the right firmware then.  I have 2 or 3 of those gaming touchscreens that were selling on flea-bay several months back for like $40 or so (or is that years).  It did come with a 3m controller and the pinouts worked out correctly for me too.  Glad you got it going.

I finished them before lunch and they were wrapped, strapped, and shipped when I got back.  I've got some pics during the process and maybe 1 or 2 on my iPhone (for reference mostly) - but nothing that really shows them off really well.    Duh!

new  Hey - here's  a good rumor to start:  I'm currently in the middle of finalizing a deal where we'll be selling custom LCD conversion kits for every major (and even a few minor) video slot out there.  Two other companies involved, so still have some work to do.  The kits won't all be available at once as there's still tons of R&D to do on many manufacturers/models.  Expect retail price for a 17" LCD with touchscreen, mounting hardware, and cabling to be around $400 give or take a titch...    applause

That's a very competitive price if indeed it ends up being the final price.  applause applause applause

I've got 1 spare, but 47 more on their way to be converted!  I think they'll be 550's to start with instead of 5501's - making the conversion a hell of a lot easier!   applause

At the moment, it takes about 1.5 hours to convert - but a lot of that is because we haven't finalized the mounting brackets and harnessing (I have to custom make them for each machine) a good 30 minutes of that 1.5 gets burned up.

The screens are gorgeous! The whole thing runs cooler, quieter, and uses a lot less juice.  I also switch all the lighting over to LED.  propeller

I left the handles on the 5501's because I ran out of cover plates - they're non-functional in the 550 configuration anyway.

Of the 47 coming in, 30 of 'em are already spoken for - that leaves me with 18 potentially available....   yummy  yummy  yummy

Peachstate also has cheap LCD conversion kits. They work great on my games.
