I have an IGT vision Pink Panther. It plays several cartoons while playing. One cartoon only plays sound with no picture. Is this a problem with the data card? If so, how do I get a good copy of data card. Machine also takes 10 minutes to boot up. Goes thru all the programming code on monitor. I bought the game from Worldwide Gaming and they were no help.

Can you check the top box and tell us if there is just one data card installed or are there 2?  Also, look at your board and tell us what base, game, and version chips are installed?

I think your blank scene should be a cannon wheeled out, spun around and then shot. I could be wrong.

OK it sounds like the blank video is normal. Boot up seems long. I have a Munsters vision and it is ready to play in 75 seconds. When I first got Pink Panther it booted up in about 3 min, which I thought was wrong then. Should the green varta battery be removed from the board? Thanks for all the help. Jim

Which game of PP do you guys have and how many paylines? I think there is a Tarzan yell animation as well, all the animation segments of all game versions SHOULD be the same.

I do have cannon.
I think there is a tarzan also. When I listed last night it was to give idea before blank.
I think this is the way it should be.

If you answer my original questions above, I might be able to help you with your long boot up.

Jim is right: Even if 2 cards are not required, if there is a card present in the second slot t will extend the boot time as both BIOS and the OS have to read the card on bootup.

If you set the jumper on J1 you can watch the BIOS read the card if it's there.

Direction I am heading is this:

I just booted up 2 of my Visions and timed it with my handy dandy Android stop watch.  From the time I powered it on to the time to the time I could put the bill in the machine was between 1 minute 48 seconds and 1 minute 54 seconds respectively.

There are two things that can really slow down your boot process.

One, as you know there are two slots in the top box.  One is for your Data card and the other is for doing RFA updates.  Most every single Vision I have gotten in direct from the casino has had both cards in the top box.  So what it's doing in this case is an RFA update every time you boot the machine.  So if you have that second RFA card also in the top box, take it out.

Two, the Version chip can also greatly effect the boot process.  If you have a New Jersey version chip in there, also known as a VSO11NX5....yank that piece of crap out of there and replace it with VSO11GX1.

There are two slots, one at the top of the box and one on the left side.  The cards are generally silver with blue and white label on the front and a creme label on the back that should also have a sticker on it telling you is installed on the card.

You take out the one on the side. Your game theme related card goes in the top.

Removed card on side. Gained 2 min. Went from 8 to 6 min.
Did it again & it's @ 8 min. I guess I didn't time right first time.

Getting that other version chip will help as well. I think all the Pink Panthers were out in Jersey, does anyone know if they were released anywhere else?

OK Heres all the #'s Version VS011NX5 dated 8/20/04, Base SB000339  11/19/99, Game SG000380  10/4/05.
On start=up says MS VERIFY, Video says RFA10027 WITH CTF AND AROUND 90 DOTS AND dig WITH SEVERAL ROWS OF DOTS. Then does the same for ATA 10065 and BGM800108 but on this one only 3 dots on CTFThere are 10 cartoons, cannon, doors tarzan, doors opening, lady with purse, hole in floor, cowboy, plug in lights, chemist monster, and last a jackhammer??? sound with a yell, no pic. I read earlier about the junk NJ chip. Where do I get a different one? I have 2 cards 1 on top ATA10065 BGM00108 pink panther 64MB 3884. Other 1 is 20MB. So apparently it is reading top card every time it boots

Like Fordsbs, you need to remove the card in the side slot. I believe the MPU in that topbox reads from the side slot first then goes to the game theme card on top in case it is updating the RFA, once it is updated it does not need to keep reading that side card. Removing that side card and getting version chip VSO11GX1 should improve your load time noticeably.
