I just went through all 525  S2000 threads....yes...Five Hundred & Twenty-Five Threads!  no
There's not one post on how the Molex's coming out of the back of the printer
get connected to in the topbox for a topbox-style printer...not one!  bawling hissy fit bawling

Can someone point me to the correct post or snap a few pictures
of the wires coming pot of a topbox printer?  Help
All I know at the moment is that it's a GENII printer?
Thanks in advance for you help on this. Hail

I know where the Netplex Molex goes. ( up into the Netplex distribution board...! )
but I don't know what or where the 4-pin Molex and 3-pin Molex coming
out of the black-colored coiled cord goes to?
The 3-pin Molex looks like a power plug really.
I will take some pics of these three Molex's when I get home later tonight.  propeller

This is what my topbox printer looks like below.
I have no idea where the picture came from so please don't sue me for using it...  knockout>>>

Bunker   All I can tell you is a Future Logic printer, the 3 pin molex is not used. ( I should say, on a S 2000 it's not used )   Scratch Head Scratch Head Wonder if I can find a place to plug it in my machines will start paying off better.

Printer on or off, I don't think you have to key it to find out if it is or isn't. ( test button )    Will have to key it to turn it on.  ( I think )  Scratch Head Scratch Head

Mark,

I have never seen a gen-ii in a S2K, so you have peaked my curiosity! I have only seen a gen-ii in an AVP machine. They have a front mount and a side mount. I am sure you can bunkerize it! May the force be with you! bust gut laughing

Stout

Here is the harness for printer
I doubt that Future logic changed pin assignment at the printer. so it should work.

I would just get 2 10 molex connectors and make a single cable.
That is what I did for the older future logic printer..

It works guys! It's sweet too!
Just for kicks, I left the reel glass printer in to see what would happen.
So, I went into the I/O printer tests in the options and hit the button to "advance" the paper.
You know what happened?

BOTH printers fed out ticket paper simultaneously! lolololo  rotflmao
So, I shut the door and and threw in a $20 to see if they would print...
now I get an error saying "We're sorry. The printer is presently out of order...
would you like some coins instead?"
lololo!!!??!!

I pulled the Molex Netplex plug out of the reel printer and shut the door and hit the Cash out button..
Now I got all three options..."Coins, Ticket, or 100 Coins"
I love setting that to a hundred coins split pay because I like playing 100 coins to see how
many credits I can get on a machine.
Then my wife plays 100 coins and we compare tickets.
If my ticket is higher - she does the dishes! lol

So, what did we learn tonight?
Well, for starters....they're both the same Netplex beasts.
The machine will only print with one printer....lol
And yes, the GENII is one sweet Netplex printer!

Okay give me a couple of minutes...
I gotta get my camera out. stir the pot / get cooking

AW! My camera broke (  Angel-Devil )...anyways

It looks like all you have to do is stick the Netplex Molex from the printer
(The other Molexes are NOT needed! )
into any available spot on the Netplex Distribution board,
key-chip the MPU, get into the option settings, enable the printer
and your good to go!  yes

Buzz,

Use a sharpie marker and add an "N" to the part number and pretend they are Netplex... Then you can pretend that they are more valuable!  Crazy

Would be nice if there were some easy way to convert them??

Okay, here's a dumb question. Is there an adapter to go from Netplex to RS232? Scratch Head 2   After all, there are lots of adapters that interface between different protocols. stir the pot / get cooking

Okay, according to Foster's wiring diagram he posted -
the Netplex Molex contains 7 wires from the GEN II printer.
(see below)
What is the configuration of an RS232 printer like Buzz has?
This is 1/2 of the problem solved?  stir the pot / get cooking
I can't do ALL the work!  Crazy rotflmao

You have to analyze at the two protocols and write a program to convert the data between them, then put the program on a chip and design an interface board.

Please post pictures of a printer in the top box.

The printer I have touches the back wall of the top box and sits on all the connectors at left rear of the top box.

Hi Guys

Its actually pretty easy to change the printer from Netplex to RS232 ports. This is done by a jumper on the processor board. You will also need to re program the sw so that it talks RS232 instead of Netplex.

Hi Guys

Did some thread searching as I remember we had a discussion about this before - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=6299.0.

A nicely detailed guide on how to change the protocol is available here on Robert Sults great website -http://www.myslotnotes.com/myslotfiles/result0296.pdf.

Hi Guys

Just to Clarify -

Gen 1 Futurelogics
PSA-66-ST (RS232)
PSA-66-001N (Netplex)
These have a interface board that need to be changed to switch protocols

Gen 2 Futurelogics
PSA-66-ST2R (RS232)
PSA-66-ST2N (Netplex)
These are jumper selectable

Hey Buzz! You could sell those RS232 printers to BlueBird owners! yes

Copied from a GEN II manual...>>>
