Happiness in life is a great dog

« on: October 24, 2010, 03:14:53 PM »

I picked up a Double Diamond Run in Phoenix this weekend and it has the 31" top box on it. I curious as to whether I can swap this over to a Denver Duck or something similar if I wanted to. The game itself is in really good shape, I'm just thinking I'll get a little tired of the current theme eventually so I'm wondering what my options would be. Thanks in advance for any help applause

Lmao! I'd love to, but it's damn expensive and my Monte Carlo would get jealous bust gut laughing Here's pictures of the two machines I picked up this weekend. The Tabasco is a really nice game to except it doesn't have backlit reels no Does have gold cabinet though yes

That top box may be throwing off my perception but this is a Vision and not a Reel Touch, right? So to change to Bucks Ahoy, Denver Duck, etc. the whole top monitor setup would also have to be changed as well along with the glass/software kit. Or IS this a RT title????

Either way, nice acquisitions, cowboygames! The backlit reels upgrade has come down in price over the last couple of years, easy change out.

Thank you! And yes, it is a vision game. Seems a little unusual to have one with a 31" top box, but it looks nice. Fortunately I've got one set of backlit reels left over from my recent sale. I'll just have to pick up the harness and backlight controller. Cabinet I/O board is there with nothing plugged into it.

Did Vision games have that LED chase border around the monitor?  Is there such a thing as a 'Reel Touch-ready' cabinet?  Could that be a touchscreen in there that is only being used for video display (no touching) with the kit that's currently in there?

Yes

There were a few Vision games that came out right before the Reel Touches did, like this one pictured above.  Another title that comes to mind is Dick Clark's.  Interestingly, later there was another Double Diamond Run produced with the Reel Touch larger screen since it was so popular I guess.  This cabinet pictured above can be converted to a Reel Touch, just need the right top box computer and harness set up.  Unfortunately as it sits though, it won't be able to play some of the newer games like Denver Duck, Tabasco, Lobster, and so on.  The two different platforms are worlds apart.

I appreciate the info Jim, I was wondering if maybe that was a touch screen hiding behind the glass. It looked a little smaller than a Denver Duck screen so I wasn't sure. I only bought it because it seemed like a really good price and the guy selling it has been after me to look at some machines he's got. By the way, if anyone's interested in RT gamekings with 17" screens for $800 let me know and I'll put you in touch with him. He's got 3 differant wholesalers he deals with in Vegas and will look for specific titles on games if you let him know what you're looking for. His mark-up seems pretty reasonable. Thanks again applause

I have a complete Reel Touch top box set up available including brackets, lighting, and harnesses.  Everything accept a working top box LCD display.  Find someone with a top box LCD computer available and your in business.

I can provide you with software for many games like Denver Duck, Lobstermania, Bucks Ahoy, Tabasco, and Frog Prince.

I also have glass and strips for Lobstermania and Bucks Ahoy available.
