I haven't met a Jackpot that I didn't like!!!

OK This is the latest.  Starting to piece this puzzle together.  I just tried a different stepper base (only change made).  Changed from the SB100927 (180 Coin) to a SB100496 (45 coin - I believe) and still do not get any other options under Multimedia menu, Audio mode except for Stereo or Mono.  Still no option for "Enhanced" but I do now get cool melodies or tones for spinning reels and winning symbols.  Sounds great.  So although all the selections in the sound menu remained the same (Mode, reel spin sound, roll up sound, stop sound etc..), the game now has enhanced sound.  Who would have thought that IGT would trade off more coins played for enhanced sound (if that is what they did).  Don't know why they didn't include the better sound capability on the 180 coin chip.   This machine is right off the casino floor and had the MML and sound SIMM installed and only played legacy sounds (like S+).  What a waste.  Learning a lot about these S2000s.  So have validated that the base chip is the key but still don't know why or how to predict what will or will not allow enahnced sound and to what extent it will be made available and with what flexibity.  I gess only IGT knows.  Thanks for the help.

I was beginning to wonder if my posts starting at reply #8 on the first page got lost and people missed them.... Scratch Head Scratch Head Scratch Head Sometimes that happens when the posts span to another page with a bunch of replies. Glad that you are getting the better reel spin sounds now! wave yes propeller

ADD: If you go back to the 180 coin Base chip, I remember that you do lose one of the menu options, just so people realize this.

i have triple butterfly 7 90 credit 5 reel.  triple red hot 7 180 credit 5 reel. triple lucky 7 180 credit 5 reel and 3 stars 180 credit 5 reel machines and they all sound the same will have to check boards to compair

I am almost 99.99999999% sure that if you listen carefully to the machines while the reels are spinning that you will hear that the 90 coin varient (the 45 coin varient) has many different reel spin tunes that cycle with every spin.... You will not get the variety of tunes on the 180 coin varients. (Provided that you have read and followed my earlier posts where I detail which settings are changed in the setup.)

Here's something I haven't experienced before.  Today I tore out my 3 reel + bonus reel Big Times Pay and replaced it with a Triple Lucky Sevens three reel kit.  I installed the DSV00013 SIMM (which is made for that game) and noticed that I was very limited in terms of sound options.  I didn't have any Multimedia expanded options with this SIMM and figured it was a limitation of the base chip...like my BTP exhibited when I tested a DSV00042 in it.

Here's what's strange, I clear/set chipped my machine and I decided to try the DSV00042 in the TLS game.  As I was going through the options, the expanded sound options are unlocked with the DSV00042 chip.  WTF?!?!  The factory matched DSV00013 SIMM is limited in terms of sounds, but with the DSV0042 SIMM using the same base chip, the expanded multimedia sounds are available.

Needless to say, I kept the DSV00042 in the machine.  Wink

If the SB chip doesn't support enhanced sounds the options after 3.2.6.3 don't show up it just moves back to 3.2.6.1

Brian  I think were pretty sure SB100496 does have Enhanced sound.  I think you do have to admit that seeing reel spin options isn't the place you would expect to find enhanced sounds.

I was just saying on the 5 reel games, that don't offer enhanced sounds, it goes back to .1.

Although it's been told you can .. um.. edit.. your SB chips to open up the enhanced sounds.. but I don't know how

Yes, I agree with Brian, especially on the SB100497... You get 3.2.6.1, 3.2.6.2, & 3.2.6.3 NO .4 or .6.... That is why I was suggesting that people check there settings under 3.2.2 and 3.2.5 as Buzz was saying (I think) also, you do not expect to see them in a different area, most expect to find the settings under Multimedia. They are BETTER sounds, but they might not be officially classified as "enhanced." All I know is I took my SB100927, and changed it to the SB100497 to get better sounds, I do not care what the max bet is since the credits will be lost sooner or later any way! bust gut laughing bust gut laughing bust gut laughing
