Hello there. I'm a newbie to this site so please forgive me if I commot any grievous errors. Just want to say "Hi" to everyone and also ask where I might find an EPROM for Gamemaker "When Pigs Fly" I fried mine last month by reinstalling it backwards. ( I'm sure no one here has ever done a stupid thing like that!) I've searched the web to no avail. Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.

    I restore Antiques Mills Watling...etc Machines as a hobby/ business.  I have found a lot of machines that have problems simply caused by little or no maintenance.  The Mech (the mechanical part of the machine except for the cabinet and Jackpot) goes through several timed events.  These events, Coin in, spin, stop, and payout/reset, all have to happen in sequence, and can cause a machine to jam or lock up if one fails.  The biggest cause of this?   WD40!!!  Beleave it or not,  I have rebuilt machines that wreaked of WD40.  The problem is that WD40 is not a lubricant as much as it is a solvent.  It can get parts moving, and quiet squeaks,  but it also pulls the dirt out of the metal and collects dirt.  After a while, it will evaporate leaving a black tar around all the joints of the mech.   One machine I did allowed you to play a coin, and just after the cycle (Which was really slow) you could pull the handle again and again without a coin.  The machine was so "gummed up" that it took several seconds just to return to the coin in position.
    I only mention this so you don't start spraying down the mech with WD40.   When I rebuild a Mech just like yours,  All parts are thourougly cleaned, and reassembled.  There are only a few spots that actuall get greased.  most other spots are lubricated with a machinist oil or 3 in 1 oil.   The slides that pay out the coins do not get any lubricant at all.they are brass and should easily slide in at the end of the cycle when the payout fingers detect a win.

Now to answer you question on the bottom plate.   As you can see in the picture You posted with the coin plates,  there is an odd shaped lever above it.  The bottom plate in the mech does not actuall pay out the coins,  bu prevents coins from just dropping through the tube.  When you cycle the mech,  all the slides move forward,  at the end of the cycle,  if you get two cherrys (usually 5 coins) the bottom two brass slides will slide into the mech farther than the rest.  at the very bottom of the slides is another plate.  That odd shaped lever is on a spring and keeps that plate closed until a payout.  that lever should move FREELY when the mech is at rest and ready for a coin.  A very light touch will move it back and fourth about a 1/2 inch.  if your lever does not move freely,  then the shoulder screw is "gummed up".  Easy fix.  on the back of the meck,  you will see the shoulder screw on the bottom left of the base plate.   a small screwdriver should fit in easily and you can remove the screw.  clean it up and clean under the lever. apply a little 3-in-1 oil to the screw shoulder and replace.  Remember,  that lever should have no resistance except for the light spring that is on it. 
IF YOU"RE NOT SURE...TAKE PHOTOS OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE BEFORE YOU REMOVE ANYTHING OFF THE MECH.

 :99- Hi I have a few questions about POG's. First question is that I have a machine that i cant get the bill acceptor to work if my life depended on it. Its a cash code 600 i belive but not 100% sure. Its eats the bill but only half way inside the stacker. I removed it and replaced it with one that i know was working and still have the same problem so that proves to me that the bill validator is working. Have reason to belive that it has something to do with the cabinet. Still trying to learn so any suggestions would really help. Other question is how do i zap proof my machines? they are all running 510 boards. Thanks for helping a newbie

Hello all, I am a member of the old site and wanted to say thanks for all the great information I have received here.  I currently own 4 Bally 5500's:  Blazing 7's, Diamond Line, California Dreamin' and Betty Boop.

I am nuclear Engineer for the US Navy and like most guys I like to tear things apart to see what makes them work.  My next project is to start tinkering with some Bally EM's.

Since last year  I started with vintage slots ,I have a mechanical Bally  3 reel  of the ' 70 and 2  Bally reel solid states  of the '80, the newest is an IGT ,s2000 series called Double Black Jack,  which is in pain,  for this and for the others I have stepped into this forum

On the old forum we had complaints and conerns that some of the manuals we had were under restricted distribution.

Hello.  I just wanted to say that I am new here.  I have been reading things and lurking around for a couple of weeks now but thought I should finally come out of the woodwork and say hello.  I recently got a couple of slot machines for S&G's and have had little problems here and there with them.  I have found this site to be very helpful but I don't really know anything about these machines so I can't be of much help but sure appreciate the information I have gotten so far, I have learned allot.  I am hoping to 'show off' my little collection and show the changes I make if that's OK but will need to figure out where to do that.  Anyway enough of this, back to your regular scheduled programming.  :97-

BTW - I have 1 IGT s2000 and a few IGT S+ machines.

I love the machine and the theme.  The theme is pretty colorful, just what I want in a game room (to be).  And it's a round top too.  I hear, and am noticing, that getting stuff for Val (the Volcano machine) is pretty hard.  I can find very little information on it.  The one I would really love to get is Caino Nights.  It's a pretty old game and I'm not sure I could even put it on an S+ machine or not.  Speaking of S+ when someone says 9" or 16" does that mean the top glass??  *giggle* I know what your thinking and is your mind always there??  :97- :72- :97- :72- :97-

Well my opinion so far is I am liking the RT, they look so cool.  Most everything I have though is a 9".  I would assume Bally machines have the 16" top glass.  And to continue with my opinion, nope, better not just yet.  I'm new here so I better keep that one to myself for now.

All kidding aside, You found a GREAT Site!

We paid a pretty penny for this s2000 and once we got it it didn't work but the guy we bought it from has done everything he can (sending parts, hours on the phone trying to diagnose etc) and finally got it up and running.  That's is why I have pictures of the inside, I sent them so they could see if there was anything wrong just by looking at it in pictures.  I know there are threads for posting game room pics and posting pics of the machines but where do I post pics of the inside of a machine?

And thanks for the welcome but know that I will probably have lots of questions LOL.

Bally has all 3 types. I like the 9" aka "square top, aka "chop top" machines the best, you can put a bucket or a drink on them, they often have nice chrome trim and top also.

Now that's a nice looking top.  It must be the old Bally's I don't like.  I think my favorite so far are the RT's and then the 9".  I guess that's what I am used to.  You can't put anything on top of te but that's ok, I have tables, LOL

I'll agree.  The topper is awesome.  I was also noticing that your card reader bar works?  I have never seen lights around the card insert before.  That's pretty cool.  I haven't really done too much to my machines yet.  Mostly just clean them up, you know take them outside and hose them off and then bring them back in and plug them in..  :97-  LOL naw, just your basic cleanup and some plug and button replacement, so far.  :3-

 been a guest here for the past hour or so. I have a CEI cal omega "Joker Poker" and  a United coin "Gamblers choice".   looking for info (schematic, repair manual, or even op manual) . I read on a 2007 post by I think it was Neokarz said he had a op manual. Also someone else said they posted a pdf re: a CEI cal omega 904. How can I view that PDF and also possibly view or get a copy of Neokarz op manual?
  By the way I am a tech. But new to VP and arcade. I had 2 years of solid state electronics in colledge. I am currently a NICET II in Fire alarm system design and engineering. So anyone who needs help/info on anything low voltage (Fire or burglar alarms, access, cctv, audio, ect.) I can help. for example need  Code change on your burglar panel or recomend what equipment to by for security cameras or what ever. Oh yeah, for side work a few years ago ,  I succesfully repaired over 50 Playstation 2 consols.
So I might have something to offer to someone.

Any help on my info request is appreciated.

It is a .zip file, and when unpacked, each page is a separate pdf document (not the best way to view the information, but at least it's available).

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new here. a little shy to write at first. I watched all the great help in every category possible, and was so impressed with the kind help everyone is giving. I'm honored to be a part of this fantastic site. I got into slot machines by accident by purchasing a couple storage rooms full of Sigma and I.G.T slot machines. I see that the person that lost them in storage is a member here, and is a well known and very helpful member of this fine community. I hope he doesn't hold it against me that I bought the storage rooms. If I hadn't, someone else would have. Now I have many working slot machines and have learned very much about them. One that I would like to know more about is a Sigma Select "Bally's Treasure Tunnel". I know Bally's makes machines, but I didn't know there were any Bally's made my Sigma. One of your very nice member has cleaned and set it up complete for me. I've listed it on Craigs list for sale, but I don't know if I asked too much or too little. In my life of buying and selling antiques and collectibles, I usually find out what something is worth, then sell it for a bit less. I would appreciate some input from your knowledgeable members. Besides that, thank you for the help I've already received and the great learning experience just being a member. My next step will be to make a donation to NLG out of my first sale. This is literally the best slot site I have seen,   :131-  and my first to be a part of. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

    Thank you for your kind welcomes and invitations. Don't worry Ron, I have about 10 working Sigmas, and 3 working I.G.T.s. I just don't need too many duplicates, lol, but I'm playing them anyway. Mostly the Sigma Bally's machine. And yes, I'm addicted already, lol. I have about 50 more machines to finish, whew! My wife and I build computers, so this isn't so bad. The hardest part for me is finding the comparators for the SG-300 machines. It's a cool challenge. Thanks again for all your help and advice.

Hello all,

I just stumbled upon this site and was hoping it would provide some great information and help me become a better owner.  Let me start by saying I am a player of machines not an owner until now.  I bought an IGT Double Diamond a few years back and just got around to setting it up.  The very first thing I notice is a code 12 low battery fault.  I have taken the motherboard out and can't see a battery on it anywhere.  Can anyone help me in doing two things?  First, I have no idea what model or mfg the machine is other than IGT.  Second, help me figure out how to clear or fix the low battery fault.

Its right above cr14 on your board you will see a big + mark you have to solder in a new 3.6 volt battery

Well my first machine is a Games Of Nevada quarter machine, bought it on ebay non working but after a couple of hours it seems to work most of the time now, picture attched, I just purchases 4 more slots they are IGTs. got them in a couple of days ago. they are a , Red ,White and Blue, Black Cherry Nudge game, 5 times pay and a Black Tie they were a little rough looking but am working on them, they all work good.
On My games of nevada machine I posted this to othe reel games- Reels 2 and 3 some times wount stop spinning, if you open it up and in the top cabnit there is a ? reel driver board ? well it stops before it is supose to if you move the arm manualy then they stop any Ideas? will try an add a picture if it.

So did you buy the 4 IGT's on eBay too??  :103- If so you probably bought them from the same guy I did.  Mine were a little on the rough side too but they all worked.  :3-  Matter-o-fact I just turned one of those 4 into my haywire deluxe.

I seen some on ebay but bought them outsie ebay too.  He wanted $1400 for 4 and it ended up costing me $250 per machine to have shipped.  I bought them from a guy in Ohio but the machines themselves came from Trump Towers.  Ya know with me being in international waters it costs allot to have them  :95- out,  :97- :97-  My first 4 machines were $2500 bucks.  If I only know...... :37- :37-  But with a little cleaning and TLC, they look great now.

Hey guys I'm a little new to the biz but stumbled across the forum recently and see it as a cool place. I am working as a slot tech in Houston for the game rooms around town.  :88- Hi  all   new here  too ,we moved to va from  nj  always had slots   in  nj mostly old stuff and jap  slots  which we sold over 700 so far  we also still  pinballs , in nj we ran auctions and ran a amusement route  which in the hayday we had almost 500 games out, we moved here with almost 200 pins , 100 japs slots, and 35 old mills, jennings, 2 bally double bells , so we are hoping to make some  new pals here and sell some games we will be getting a large amout of igt 17 in uprights slots in july09.

I came to this board to try to get some information on an LED Display module I picked up and want to use in a project.
After a lot of web searching and poking around this site, I think I know what I have is a "Progressive Display", probably off of a "Pot-O-Gold" (POG) machine.  The display module has 12 5x7 tricolor LEDs and is made by Dynamic Displays Inc.  The model number printed on the board is S019A (2I7X60M). 

What I want to know is how to use the RJ45 interface to drive the board to display arbitrary messages (in multiple colors).  I'm assuming it is a simple serial interface, but need to know the pinouts and voltage levels accepted by the board.  I can probably figure that out (I have an electronics background), but any help would be appreciated. 

The real problem is finding out what protocol is used to tell the board what to display.  I suspect hooking it up to a serial port of a computer and sending it ascii text just isn't going to cut it. 

Any suggestions on which part of the board I should post this query?

Hey! I got my Sigma Treasure Tunnel up and working...
Thank you so much for the parts you sent me...
I was looking the Sigma 150-PLUS manual and on page 2-15 (On top)
There's a software option that I wanted to change but the machine won't let me.
In fact, that's the message I get in the VFD display...lol
I press the "Test" button and get the message "A: DENOMINATION" and ".50" is under it.
How can I change it to a .25 cent denomination?
The manual says in the definition:
[ Current machine denomination. Contact your Customer Service Representative (Yea...right!....lol)
and request denonmination conversion EIB 97009.]
What the heck is this? :103-  a chip?

Any help from anyone really on this would be fantastic!

My name is Mike from southern California. Our home gaming experience started with Williams arcade classics for WII. Funhouse looked like a fun game and we were fortunate enough to find one locally. Since then we've added Road Show, my wifes favorite, Creature From the Black Lagoon and Twilight Zone. There was an open spot, so we found a Double Blazing 7. It works great, but I have a few questions about the coin/credit situation etc. Along with being blessed with a wife who enjoys gaming as much as I do, I try to play a little golf now and then. Oh and about the monkey,  If you get tham as babies and train them, they are not so evil.  We had one when I was a kid that would sit at the table with us and eat meals and used both hands to pick up a glass to drink out of and was a great pet until the state of NC made my parents give him up then he turned evil. Everytime he got out of line mom would look at him and tell him he was acting like a monkey.  Got a sheepish look on his face and quick acting that way.  Aaahhh memories. :3-

G'day I am new to NLG I live in Australia and work for Ainsworth as a bench Tech, I have been here for about 3 years and mostly I have worked on my own repairing parts for about 8000 machines. I like to tinker with many things which is why my user name is fiddlefarter, I have a trade in Electronics and Electrical, I am currently renovating a house and if I don't know something I learn it. I have one rug rat who is 11 going on 30 and I never married, maybe one day I will find a reason to do so. In Australia it is illegal to own a slot machine so I am very jealous of all the members who own them, the only time I can play with them is in my workshop, here in oz we don't have one arm bandits or reel machines any more. I am very impressed with this site all the members are very quick to respond to questions and seem to have gathered a lot of information, hopefully while I am in the states for the G2E expo I will get to meet some of you. Thankyou for the warm welcome I have received from NLG

I have been overwhelmed at the the way Techs help each other in the states, here is Oz they don't share anything when I started I just got told work it out for yourself. So I decided that everything I learn I will share and maybe someday our boys will wake up to themselves, that is why I love this site sooooooo much you guys are so friendly. I haven't been to the states for about 20 years so I am getting very excited planning my trip to Vegas in November, as it turns out a school friend I haven't seen for 29 years will be in Vegas at the same time so we will have a few drinks and party hard. I would be very keen to meet some of you guys while I am there and we can pick each others brains, our machines are very different and am looking forward to getting a closer look at the reel machines.  I'm sure quite a few of people in Oz do have machines but they keep it very quiet, so if you have a problem with them and can't fix them then you are stuck with a huge door stopper  :72- At the moment I'm only working half days due to a neck injury from working in a dark workshop with no ventilation so networking and collating my info has been well overdue, here in Oz we don't work for the casinos all the repairs are done by companies which we work for and every part of the machine has a metal tag that has a bar code which lets the government know who touched the machine and why. So if you open the logic cage etc you have to cut the tag and have a good reason to do so, the government monitors everything we do, I chose not to be a field Tech as I am on my own with a 11 year old girl so I can't work weekends or nights, so working in the cave was my choice. And yes my name is Sharron, but at work I have been called many things, they don't seem to like women in the workshop it seems to be a blokes domain, tough they are stuck with me now  :47- I will keep updating my repair notes and help where I can, and again thanks for the warm welcome boys  :131-

Just found this forum while browsing for slot machine information.  Wow, and here I thought I was the only one interested in slots.....  You really can find anything on the internet.  I am in California, do not have any hardware, and am just reading up on what is new (and old).  I used to work for a big computer firm designing chips, but got tired of that and now back in school.  Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" to everyone.

Back in the old days, my first coin machine was a baseball type "press to bat" pinball.  Saw a neighbor that left this big old machine out on the curb for trash pickup.  I went over and bought it from them for a dollar, carted it back, and started overhauling it.  Got it working again in about a month and put it in the fraternity main room to collect donations from the members.  Our group bought a lot of beer with that one...  From there I was hooked.  I got an Atari, a monitor, a coin acceptor, and figured out how to mount the whole thing in a cabinet I built.  What fun!  And multiple games too.  Everyone loved that machine.  More time passes, I move and get a real job.... and I talk my roommate into going in with me to get a Stargate upright machine.  That was alot of fun (after much cleaning).  Had the motherboard go out on me once, but really that was the only major issue.  More time passes, all the old stuff is gone, and now I have nothing.   :60-  I always wanted to tinker around with a slot machine.  Really don't know where to start though.  Space might be an issue.  My wife said "honey, if you really want it, we can make room".  She is so sweet.  I am thinking maybe I'll start with tinkering with parts and go from there.  I'm an old hand working on computers and electronics.  The mechanical ones are also very cool!  Thanks again to all the great folks here that share these same interests!

I'm a professional software developer in Indianapolis, IN.  I don't have a "proper" coin machine of my own.. but I do have the starts to a Mame setup.  The project to build my own mame cabinet is currently on hold unfortunately.

My "deep seated underlying passion" though is for slots.. specifically IGN's Double Diamond series.

I've started a little side project for my own entertainment purposes to try and create a software slot simulator modeled after the DD's...  So I'm trying to gleam as much information as I can about how those machines work so that I can make an accurate facsimile.

While I can't help with game boards, cabinets, controls and power supplies.. if you've got any programming or computer super-geek questions, I'll be happy to help if I can :)

Another newbie that just wanted to say hi to everyone out there  :88-.I've been a member for some months now & have just been lingering in the background. I have already gotten some great info off of here & wanted to say what a great site this is.

As far as slots go I started with the Jennings first then moved to Ballys & then a few IGT S+ machines &  I just recently picked up a few sigma UV 1700's that I'm playing around with.

My wife thinks I'm crazy  :5-, but hay it keeps me off the streets at night.So again just wanted to say hi & thanks for all the great info so far.

Hello everybody! New to the forum and what a great forum it is.  :131- You seem to have a heck of a lot of experience here and most are willing to share.
I am a retied electric utility worker living in Holbrook Jct, Nevada where gambling is king. I love the casinos but like to have some of that action in my own home.
So I have a IGT S+ going on the third game kit. Got it in a local fireman's auction and have enjoyed it ever since. I have it in my theater lobby along with a Wurlitzer
CD juke box. We entertain a lot and the neighbors enjoy the slot. Hope to graduate to a I Game + that opens the door to some great games. Jim, from Blue Ridge Slots has
already given my neighbor a helping hand with his I Game + so thaniks all and hope to visit on a regular basis. :88-

  HOWDY,  just found this site a couple days ago.  I have been into older slots for several years now.  Worked on many old Mills and Jennings.  But picked up a IGT S-Plus with the 4th of July game on it.  Had a few bugs with the reels and door optics.  Got that figured out.  Now back to the forums with more questions!!!  Looks like a good and active site here!!!!!!

Thanks -- I'll try contacting them.  I'm not sure that the board you linked to will do the trick, though, since (as far as we know) the PE+ outputs 15k CGA video, and needs to be converted to 30k VGA.  We're trying to use a board that is supposed to do the conversion, but we're stuck on (we think) a sync issue.  Hopefully should be able to make some progress after my upcoming Vegas trip.

Most LCD VGA monitors these days are multisync.
I just looked up the specs on mine and the lower end is 23K so the 15k may still present a problem.

What is the game plan for Vegas ?

Like I said our cold is very relative compared to others! We are in the lower 40's and dropping, which is cold for us. New to this forum, found it when searching the 'net for info.

I'm in Oregon. I've been into slots for years and years. My current collection includes an old S-Slot (died after sitting) that I've got about a half-dozen games for, an old Balley EM, a complete but inop video poker billed as the first automatic poker (Showdown Poker), an absolutely stunning Fortune I Draw Poker that looks like it just came off the line, and my newest addition is a Double Diamond Deluxe S+ (complete and working with bv, just needs .25 coin comparitor). I'm into most anything fun and electronic, and have a degree in electronics.

Super Joker was my favorite slot from the 80's, I'd play it all the time when I'd go to Reno, thus my name (it was also the first game kit I got for my S-slot).

Have a ton of questions and more, but don't have a ton of time.

Just wanted to introduce myself...I registered last week and have been reading/searching non stop. This forum has been so much help!

Here's a little background info on me:
- Sales Manager for the past 4 years
- Laid off due to the economy
- Been without work for the past 9 months
- Came across a job to fix gaming machines (only real past electronics experience is building computers/wiring on cars)
- At first I thought I was going to hate the job but I actually enjoy it. It's pretty nice to know how the machines work inside and out instead of just playing them.

Hi guys,

Well a couple of you already heard about me in a diffrent post.
My name is Lars Langeveld. I'm living in Hillegom (about 20 minutes from Amsterdam).
I'm new  :59-  on this forum and just purchased 5 slotmachines with a miracle. I love to be working with technical things and this is a new challenge for me.

I will tell you the hole story so everybody is up to date!
I'm working on a former cruiseship called De Rotterdam. It was owned by premiercruises but they got bankrupt in 2000.
The ship was layed for anker in the Bahama's for a few years. She was supposed to be demolished but a organisation from the Netherlands did everything to get her back to where she came from as cultural heritage.
As everybody knows they have gambling halls on a cruiseship so did De Rotterdam.
The ship is completely restored and most of the stuff that came out got back in except for the Slotmachines.
So they stood there in a big wearhouse and I bought 2 of them from someone how ones the wearhouse. When I picked them up I could take 3 extra with me because they did not know what to do with them because they operate on 110V and not 220V :103-. So now I gave 2 of them to a friend of mine and the other 3 for myself. :91-

Already fixed that! The Double Lucky 7 is working fine after 10 years vacation  :97-
The Double Diamond was incomplete. Fixed it already but gives a code 12 so that's going to be a battery switch when i read the forums.

The other 3 are doing nothing. Have to open the locks but I do not have the key's any more they got lost somewhere in those 10 years.

This is a lot of fun!

I LOVE WMS slots, like Zeus, Jungle Wild, treasures of the acropolis etc.

Hello All:

Signed on a few months back and have been checking out the site and learning as much as I can with asking a whole mess of questions. I own 3 machines right now. A Bally EM penny slot, a 25 cent Bally Blazing 7's Double Diamond and a 25 cent Universal Draw Poker. had my machines down for a year during remodeling and am just starting to brink them back on line and as many of you know, they never come right back up. I have fixed a few of the problems by searching and reading here, but will have questions soon enough.  Thanks for having a great site and I hope to be a contributor as well as a reader.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!  Here is a picture of my toys/collection. The EM came up with just a few minor problems bulbs and a sticky coin acceptor. The Proslot has a code 81 llow battery error so time  to  replace that, but I'll have questions. The Universal Poker wiill be the challange since  I  don't have a manual and it has a scrambled screen on start-up with no ppicture. Might be battery also as it has sat. I looked for this machine in my slot machine book and by the looks of the coin head I would say it is a Pace-Ace-Space machine.
Sold in Maryland and overseas. Was considered an undependable machine.

We used to have negative karma as well, but that's been permanently disabled. Once you have enough posts, you will see green and red arrows just below the karma ratings of others within each post. Hello everyone.  This is my first time posting to this forum even though I have been reading all your posts for a couple of weeks.  I really enjoy coming to this website everyday.  I have learned alot!  My husband and I are thinking of buying our first slot machine.  We love to play the slots but do not like leaving all our money at the casinos!!   LOL  I found this site searching for local slot machines for sale.  The mother lode near us seems to be in Ohio.  We are in North Alabama on vacation right now but the seven more hours of driving just doesn't seem practical right now.  Boy I would love to visit all your stores in Ohio!  I'd be like a kid in a candy store!  I did contact Samron Slots in Kentucky which is only four hours away from where we are now.  Any guidance you can give us on purchasing our first slot machine would be appreciated.  I would love to be driving home with our first machine in a couple of days!!!  Keep up the good work you do on this site!!!!  We'll be back.

As you've already seen, we have a GREAT bunch of folks here ready to help out with any questions and concerns.  :89-

As far as guidance on your 1st machine, well that's kinda tough. My recommendation would be to do some looking
around and when you find a title that you like to play then there you go. Many people start with IGT S+ games
cause they're low price and easy to work with. That said with IGT S2000 you get more "fun" as sounds and game
features are improved. Then there's the whole video slot concept and muti-game machines. So it is a toughy.
Like I said, do some looking around and find something YOU like and you're sure to be happy.  If you have questions
on certain games or if you find something and have questions just ask here...there's always someone ready to help.  :89-

We do have a couple vendors here who are in Ohio who I'm sure would love to see you!   ;)

My favorite machines are the double stars, triple double stars, etc.  My husband likes the haywire games.  Plain old 3 reel games sound like a good place to start to me.  We can always grow from there.  I would LOVE to own one of those Barcrest machines some day!  (I hope I spelled it correctly.)  Ohio is awful far away at this time.  Maybe someday.  Thanks Again!!

doublediamond, after seeing your location, I would say keep an eye on Craigslist.
Sooner or later you're apt to come across one. The titles you're interested in
are available on both IGT S+ and S2000. The cool thing is, you just need to
find one of these with ANY game theme installed then you can buy  "Game
Kits" to change it to the game you want so be on the lookout for IGT S+
or S2000. Those seem to be the most available and are much more user
friendly when it comes to changing games and/or resolving problems.

My name is David and I am the proud owner of my first Slot machine. It's a 1996 IGT Double Diamond 25cent 3 coin, with Progressive on the top of the 3rd slot. Prog# DD3634 / SP731
I have this for a few days and know nothing about it. I found out how to get the chip numbers from post on this forum, but that's as far as I got. Is there an easy way to do a complete reset of the machine including counters? I would like to start from the beginning. All keys are in hand, even the reset key, just not sure what to do with them.

Needs a SET015 chip to re-enable the bill acceptor after you've wiped out
the internal machine accounting records with an IVCxxx Clear chip.
Not to mention about the next 60 posts about how to get rid of
the [63-1] and [61] error codes that will be popping up among all the other
things like you trying to learn how to set up all the programming on your machine
AND go through all the reading about learning how to
program a Mikohn progressive stand-alone system....

The mechanical counters cannot be reset to zero.
At least, not easily unless you're a watchmaker.
I did it but I'm not a watchmaker and it took me about an hour to do one.
Wasted an hour of my life.... :5-    :72-
I should have just went and bought new ones.

(Now you have me thinking about doing a mod where I could
use re-settable electronic digital counters. Hmmm... :129- )

Great pic! You're right! That IS the volume potentiometer knob...
which also signifies that you have an 10Mhz MPU onboard!
According to your picture, turning it counter-clockwise will lower the volume.
You only need to turn it a little bit clock-wise to get it louder...

It's a very cheap electronic mechanical component that is very picky and has  very little gap between
low volume sounds versus ear-splitting
you-will-get-thrown-out-by-the-landlord-very-soon-aircraft-carrier noise!!!!! :72-

Now please tell me you turned off the power when you removed the MPU board!!!

Hi there-
Just bought an IGT PE+ Slant at an auction for $58.  Usually at this place getting a good deal like this means some work ahead troubleshooting some new (electronics I haven't fixed yet and am a newbie in the area of) device and the PE+ has been no disappointment.  Actually, it's in pretty good shape save a couple little electronic challenges.
I searched for information on this fine beast and time and time again found my way to this forum where it is apparent that people not only know their games but are very helpful in offering advice to help teach others their games. I've been reading the posts, the almost the same manuals and similar issues and it is amazing how nice people are to each other
The week before I found this PE+ Double Bonus Poker I was doing work for an old customer of mine who shared with me his intense fondness (aka online addiction) of Double Bonus Poker and finding the coincidence too coincidental I picked up the machine to pass his wife's direction for XMas.  This guy will be so stoked.

Been working on slots for around 14 years, 13 in an Indian casino as a floor tech 1st, then a bench/repair tech then as a tech supervisor. Currently work for a used slot company fixing the same kind of games that myself and other floor techs used to destroy with jury rigged repairs  ;)

Well I am most familiar with IGT's especially IGames but letely we've been moving alot of Emotions so I have kinda gotten a crash course on them, but I will gladly offer what assistance I can, just remember no ones infallible. Most troubleshooting in casinos comes through "swaptronics" but hopefully I can be of some assistance. Earliest games I worked on are Pot Of Golds, Ramstars & Infinity machines, won't be much help on games earlier than that I am afraid.

This happens in the PC world too. I run a team of desktop people. if they can address the problem in 15min they swap the PC out and then we re-image the old one to bring it back to stock.

People not working / Machines not playing = lost time / revenue.

 I'm new to this forum and to these machines in general, I've been a collector restorer of Telechron Clocks (the first electric clocks) for sometime now and am a member of that forum. I am in the process of finishing the basement bar game room and have been looking for machines to fill it.  Last week I ran across my first one 1975 Merit Jacks or Better ,Mrs Notime loves it so the door is open to another collection. Yesterday I purchased 8 JH Keeney machines from the late 1950's that  have been setting in a warehouse for some thirty years. Three of the machines operate with no problem and need some cabinet restoration, the remainder have various issues. I realize that these machine are not all that desirable  but I love electro mechanical and am looking forward to the challenge any words of wisdom and help would be appreciated .

Hello! My name is Ken ,and I'm a new member here with my 1st slot machine;a bally super continental 891-1.I never had a slot before,and this one's pretty cool.It's fully operational & needs no parts to work except for a few small cosmetic items,a good overall cleaning & some lighting issues.I got all of the service manuals I could find to go with it along with the schematic,so I'm all set with the paper.I attached a photo below.I am in the process of finishing up a wheeled stand to put the slot on so I can get it off the floor.Right now the slot is parked next to my jukebox(rowe/ami cd-51),an old candy vending machine(nat'l vendors crown cc deluxe),and a pinball machine('70 GTB Baseball).I have found that the slot & pinball share alot of the internal "guts" and are quite similar inside.I also recently picked up a round electric beverage cooler from a local blockbuster video store that was going out of business for $20;it has its own refrigeration unit.
 So what should I look out for & be aware of when working with th slot?? I was going to clean the inside of the top backglass but with the condition of the paint on the backglass I'll leave that alone for now.If you have any other tips to pass along it would be very much appreciated! I don't suppose anyone wants to see more photos.....lol..... :96-.I was referred to join here from someone on a jukebox list.This looks like a real cool site & I hope I can get any help I may need.Thanks!

Hello to all, just acquired a IGT and know absolutely nothing about it so I did a search on goggle and you guys popped up. I'm guessing your machine is a older S+ with no Bill Validator. If your missing the coin tray, they aren't that hard to find.  Looks like all the buttons and lit so the machine must be in working order. The only problem I see for you is, which cars you have to get rid of to make room for more slot machines.

I do have the coin tray, just took it off to pull  the coin bucket, clean and inspect things, no smoking gun as to why it won't fire up. Yep no bill validator, just the quarter validator. Looks like it time to join a sub forum, which one? Thanks

If you're not sure what type of machine you have, an S2000 will have a blue florescent alpha display on the lower left side of the reel glass; an S+ will have old fashioned red numeric LEDs.

Hi Guys, thought I had found exactly what I was searching for here so I joined up. But it turns out I cannot access the 'Submit a new file section' to get the service manual for the Aristocrat Esprit series of game machines. I read in another thread that they were available there for download.

I have an old Aristocrat Esprit 'Inca King' game machine, which used to work 15 years ago and now doesn't, not suprised. I suspect it is just the eeproms have been erased. I just want to give it the quick once over before it gets dismantled and thrown out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.


ps. Where is the best place to start a new thread for my repair log? I am also considering doing a Atmega conversion of the game machine if the current computer board is cactus. The mechanics all still look ok.

There is actually very little in the submit a new file section right now, and nothing for Aristocrat. Perhaps one of the members here will be able to help you. We do have a small group from Australia and New Zealand that help each other when they can, although not as actively as with some of our other brands of slots.

Without knowing anything about the machine, my first thought is that the battery probably died. Computerized slots have batteries with lives of 8-15 years to backup the bookkeeping, denomination, and other settings of the machine. If that is the case, the machine's settings will need to be reset after the battery is replaced, and for our US machines, that also requires one or more special chips for security reasons. I don't know how the Esprit works, so this is all speculation.

hello everyone! I'm new here to this hobby, a friend of mine sold me his Mills diamond front slot machine and says it just needs to be timed and greased. I got on the internet and found this perfect site, I feel a new addiction coming on! 4 years ago,  I got into RC helicopters and I found a site quite similar to this one.  If it wasn't for HELIFREAK.COM,  I wouldn't of gotten off the ground. If anyone is thinking about getting into this hobby I would strongly suggest going to this site first,  it is an expensive hobby. But a good forum to go to,  like this one,  makes it real enjoyable. Welcome ghetto1971!  TDWC is a favorite of mine too.  Here's a shot of mine...well, my kit of it anyway.  You see, I have only one IGT S2000, but I have close to 10 kits now that I swap in and out.  It does become an addiction.  My boys like to play too.  My youngest has unbelieveable luck when he plays...always hits something big.

Young kids always seem to love slots, so you'll need to buy another two, not one, because your wife will hog the second one.  :30- :96-

That depends on the kit. Your machine is currently a three reel slot (I can't tell if you have backlit reels), so if you stick with other three-reel games, swapping kits is simple and easy. If you catch the kit bug like Yoeddy, you'll end up looking at four and five reel kits, and will be buying things like special harnesses, reel shelves, reels, sound simms, progressives stuff?, toppers, ... ...  :79-

I don't see a coin head, but then again, I don't see a printer, either. Assuming that you do have a printer that I'm just missing, you might end up adding coin handling as well, which requires a coin head, a comparitor and harness, and a hopper.

Oh yeah, and then there's multi-denomination, and kits that take 90-180+ coins per spin, which can add more hardware if there's an LED display on the left side of the reel glass...

Hi everyone. I am completely new to this, so I hope I don't mess up too bad. I've never participated on a forum chat at all. My wife and I just set up our gaming room, and we have a couple of Stop Action slots. Going to buy our slot next month at NLG in Az, but I'm wondering about transporting it home. I've been reading up on just about as much as I can, and we know what slot we want. My only concern is placing it in the back of my truck and driving back to L.A. with it. Will the travel be harmful to the machine. Should I arrange for an SUV and place the machine in the back of that. Can the machine lay flat on it's back or does it need to remain standing upright. Any thoughts or experiences anyone can share would be much appreciated.

the machine should be fine standing up or laying flat doesnt matter.....as long as its secure......

The most important thing to do after bringing the machine home is to open it up, remove the hopper (if it has one), and to search it the machine thoroughly for coins and for other metallic debris BEFORE plugging it in or turning it on.

Another thing to know if you get a video machine as opposed to a reel machine: I always advise removing the monitor if you are laying the machine down. You can hit a bump and jar it lose if not. Then you risk destroying the monitor. It has a neck board and neck of the tube on the back, and they can break easily.

I have an old bally slot(E-Series 1000) since a few days. It had an damage from the batterie on the MPU-board. I fixed ist but now there is an errorcode 43, i can not delete ist.

Hello to all, my first post.
I'm new to the forum, having just rescued  a Game Maker from a dusty old shed. A friend of mine picked up a IGT Double Diamond and brought it over to me to fix for him. I have worked on many pinball machines so I figured what the heck, I'll try anything. After finding a manual on line and this GREAT :131-  forum I had it up and running for him in a couple days. Turns out a stepper driver had died on the main board for the 1st reel. With the schematics and reading the heck out of this forum I was able to fix the problem. Now, just like with the pinball machines, I'm hooked :3-. I make my living repairing injection molding machines, designing new support equipment and retrofitting various types of machines with plc's and updated controllers. I have messed with electronics since I was 12,(I'm 53 now) digging old TVs and radios out of the trash and trying to repair them. I learned very early about the capacitors and anode cap in TVs :50- and fortunately lived to tell about it :96-. Well I've wasted enough of your time, so I just wanted to thank all you  for a great forum and am looking forward to chat and purchase items from you to help fix the rash of machines i know will come in the near future. Did I mention I'm hooked?? :96-

Hello to everyone on this great site. My name is John, (SSGHuber1964) As you can tell by my screen name I was in the military
(Army) and retired with (20) years of service. I have learned so much from the many questions, and the answers that are on here it's just amazing!  No matter what the problems members are having with their slot machines, EVERY problem has been answered and the person NOT made to feel like an idiot because no matter how "small" the problem may be to the majority of members out there, NOBODY comes across as though they think you're dumb, but instead REALLY help out.
I personally thank everyone for this attitude, it has impressed me immensely!

I currently have an IGT S Plus which originally
was a Triple Sapphires. I have purchased a few
game kits: Triple Diamonds, 5 Times Pay,
10 Times pay, and Triple Triple Diamonds
which is my current game theme.

I also have an SP 1311 (Tournament) chip
for the 5 Times Pay (ST 060) which the pay out
is like 2,003%  I'll set it up and my wife and I play
for (5) minutes each. LOSER has to vacuum
or do dishes! All I can say is I have dish pan
hands! lol

I am going to buy an IGT S2000 Big Times Pay
at the end of the month.  I can't wait!
I'll post some pics later on tonight or tomorrow.

   My name is Glenn and I'm from NSW Australia. I have been around poker machines nearly all my life as my father has 2 vintage Aristocrat one arm bandits ( 10cent machines) from the 1950's. I have had a fascination with poker machines ever since.
 I am building myself a man cave to place my gaming and arcade machines in and need your help?
I'm not that technical thus the reason why I found this forum to help me fix my newly acquired Aristocrat 540 MK 2.5 VIDEO  , the top plate says manufactured in June 1994 but the bottom plate says 13-10-1992.
 It's a TOP GEAR machine and does work except for a few buttons? I have only 1 key (JACKPOT RESET).  The only buttons that work are the play 2 lines and play 3 lines along with the bet 2 ,3 and 5 credits per line buttons.   The bet 1 credit ,  10 credits and max play buttons aren't working along with the play 1 line , 4 lines and 5 lines buttons?  I would really appreciate any help I can get to help me fix my machine?

I will post pictures ASAP and if anyone can help me , I will post the pictures you need aswell.

Sorry I can't be of much help as I know very little about Aristocrats. I do have a couple manuals if that
would help any. It does look like you may have two different models in one machine based on the manuals
I have.

Maybe someone will jump in and help you that knows a lot more than I do.

After five years of reading this sight and seeing how helpful everyone is I have joined up.
For the last six years I have owned an S+ Triple dollar mystery reel machine and love it. I have only turned off the machine three times in the last five years for a few problems. I also have a Double Lucky seven kit for it.
I just got a S-2000 with back light reels that is a triple lucky seven machine in which I bought a five star kit with just strips and cpu board with chips. I do not care much about the glass(that's a story for another time)maybe because I hit a progressive jackpot on one a few months ago.(It was a total of 8000 dollars before I walked away from the machine. That was a Ho-Chunk Casino in Wisc) Yes I live in cold country.
I have worked out the problems with my machine with the help of the posts on this sight and just plain luck.
My real love is the triple dollar mystery and would like to change my S-2000 into one with back light reels, I kind of remember playing in Ohio and on one that was not mystery and the reels lite up, I might be wrong, but I would like to find out what chips I would need to make mine into a triple dollar mystery with regular reel(I have the reels and strips but no idea as to what chips to use), but would like to know if they made a set of back light reel strips.
I guess I got off the subject for this post and am sorry, I am a retired auto mechanic,auto mechanic teacher, tech ed teacher and motorcycle mechanic. Do to a lot of physical problems, I have had to leave my cars behind and use slot machines as my hobby. Looking forward to being a member of this sight.

WHY? I think we all agree the door is the front of a machine, that being the case, the hinge is the right side of a machine.  If your standing face to face with your Wife, Her right hand doesn't become her left hand does it ??

If  you are standing in front of car facing it, left side is drivers side.
If you are in drivers seat drivers side is left side.

Hi gang,

First an introduction is in order.  I'm Mark Rogan and I have been an electronics technician in the vending and amusement field since 1982.  I have vast experience in coin op repair.  These days I am the service manager at Sun Fun Amusements here on the central east coast of Florida.  If you need help with coin op stuff I can hopefully be of help.  Along with our route we have been doing repairs for the general public.  People are bringing me slot machines so here I am hoping to learn from you all.  I do have a question as to getting manuals and old documentation from your site.  When I click on "submit a new file" I am being asked for a username and password.  The name i set up for the forums does not get me into the file sharing area.  Can anyone help me with this?  I have a IGT "M" series slot I need to learn about.  Thanks!

Glad to have you aboard. It sounds like you'll fit right in here. We've had to restrict the Submit a New File section to those with over 25 posts who have filled out their profile information, however I will tell you that there really isn't much in there. Members used to use it to share files that were too large to email, but it's sort of in a state of hibernation these days. Even when it was in active use, we purged it on a regular basis as it was never intended to become a permanent source of files.

We do have several members who should be able to help you with your M series machine, and a manual might eventually end up making its way to you.

I suggest starting a thread on the M slot reel machine board detailing the issues that you're having and hopefully someone will jump in with some help. I have very limited knowledge of the M slots.

Hello, I am new to the group.  I just purchased a IGT S2000 Triple Double Wild Cherry machine.  I am not a slot tech perse, but I have owned and worked on an antique dime slot since the 70's.  The antique machine says "The Westerner" and has "Lucky Dice" on the belly plate.  I think it is a Mills High Top machine, but I am not 100% sure.  I am looking to find parts for this machine and possibly restore it.  I can send pictures if needed.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
