i was told by who i bought then from to change step base chip to sb 1000 and replace high speed reel chip  to what ever game i want .i would like to make the progressives work that's why i got them I'm interested in any chips that will make game come alive . will make game glass and reel strips for a custom game called plungerboy thanks for any feed back (i cant do this with out you) note*** 4 gold boat anchors need boat

Some info about MegaBucks

When Idesign questioned the standalone operation of the MegaBuck machines he was trying to give everyone a hint to potential buyers. Try it before you buy it if the intent is to use it as is.

I bought some megabuck machines a few years ago that came out of Canada. Never could find any programs to make them work as a standalone and had those nice orange stickers on the eproms and still can't find the programs. Since they have MegaBuck symbols on the strips it was impossible to match them up to a standard game theme. The best I could do to get one to work was the Red, White and Blue MegaBucks theme. The reel strips symbols on the Wild Star RWB theme matched the RWB MegaBucks layout and would work with the WS RWB S+ program ... BUT ... there was 3 payouts that did not match up correctly.. it was for the 3 Red 7s, and 3 White 7s and the 3 Blue 7s. Any one of these payout was 240 credits for MegaBucks but the S+ WS RWB payout was .. Red 600, White 450 and Blue 300. Back in the day this glass could be made but not anymore.

For the "high speed chip" it needs to be a 100 ns or faster for the 27C64 chip .. good luck finding them. Dump that idea and go with an SB base chip for the S2000 themes. Make your custom glass and strips to match the S2000 theme. Since you were told the MegaBuck would work as a standalone .. and now won't .. you should see about getting the program chips from the seller for the game theme you want. I suggest SG 363s (need GME 1 & 2) and then the SB for the theme that you want to use.

IMO, if you went in there just to get working standalone MegaBuck machines then you could have gotten a better deal. Once you have to start making custom glass and reel strips .. at least $200 for a complete kit if the art work is supplied.. buying machines that already had progressive systems and glass already in them would have been the better route to go.

There are members on here that have done aftermarket work themselves and very satisfied with it. Maybe one of them will be able to give you suggestions on getting nice work done at a reasonable price.

I buy quite a few from him and never got a bad one, always erased, clean, with stright legs.  Takes from 2 to 3 weeks.

Well i guess i walked in to a reel hornets nest. MY buddy owns  a print shop so reel strips and glass are no problem . question if i choose a nudge game as i though i bought (buyers beware) then use my own design on reel strips  but copy symbol placement will this work. any ideas on a cool game theme that has progressive in 3 coin . i Will document this ordeal for any other poor sole  that has to do this in the future (I hope not)  thanks for all the help so far and in the future    Silly Me!

I have a request, can you peel back some of the white sticker on your Game ( SG ) chips and tell us the number on them. You will only have to do one, as they both will have the same number.

Are you wanting to stay with the Double Diamond Deluxe or another type of game that has the nudge?

These are a few of the other S2000 nudge .. just make sure you can get the program for the game before making one.

Five Times Pay Deluxe
Haywire Deluxe
Red White and Blue Deluxe
Triple Diamond Deluxe

Any of the above games can be set up for progressive.

You might as well start shopping around for a new MPU board.
You probably blew out the IC components on the board pertaining to the optics
because you have the wires totally backwards.>>>

It is possible he killed the optic circuit by crossing the wiring.
Bunker is correct it the Red wire at the door and green wire at the cabinet.
The other 2 wires do not need to be connected at all to simplify it.

LEDs only go one way.
The door optic emitter and the cabinet-side receiver optic circuitry will blow out if you cross these wires.
It does NOT work the same as an S+.

The optics are a Infra Red LED and Photo Transistor Pair.
The LED is pulsed on an off by a circuit on the MPU
The on/off pulse is about 1 sec long with a 50% duty cycle.
You can test the main door optics
4 I/O tests, 1 Input tests 3 Processor 4.1.3

The Photo Transistor, the light creates the base current which causes the transistor to conduct in sync with the flashing LED.
The MPU watches for the pulsing signal from the Transistor if it there the door is closed.
When you connect the red at door to the green at cabinet you are connecting the pulsed signal to the input back to the MPU.

IGT when it turns things on likes to complete the ground via a logic circuit (with built in buffering as well) to protect the controlling IC's
When You press a player button you are grounding an input line back to the I/O board which is then encoded and sent to the MPU
the optics do not use the door or cabinet I/O to function.

Go into the menus.
4 I/O tests
    1 Input Tests
        3 Processor Input
            cycle to main door.
close the door or do the bypass the digit will cycle from 0 to 1 repeatedly if everything is working properly
you didn't accidentally unplug the short jumper that is near the Change/service Player button in door harness?

it is in the wire harness going to the door I/O board
Easy to locate once you open the belly door
Mine happens to be red.
It is the jumper hanging down.
