Error 81-00 is a low battery error...Check the voltage of the battery on the MPU...If low he will have to replace and most likely have to do a partial or full ram clear...
Hope this helps...

Thanks. I'll let him know. I'll most likely have to go do it.

Do you have the clear ram chips and/or manual for the machine?

I put a new battery in & had to reprogram it. Now I get code 9.1.0 on machine (which is no communication)
& progressive comes up 0000 then goes to C1.
I say thanks for any help. It seems that somehow there should be a way to reset to make communication.

the progressive controller lost it settings.  You need to program it again.

Thanks,

That's what I was afraid of. I don't have setup to program it.
Is there a way that can eliminate the progressive & not lose wheel?

Yes there is I did it a couple months ago.  Let me pull my notes and I will respond if no one else does. The game WILL work without the progressive meter being set up.  Get back with you-B.

In your Menu options from my scribble on notes here under xtra 11d- then navigate (a manual helps) I have a lot of listings but the pertinent ones should be progressive type using serial michon--set to 4,  # of JP progressive- set to 1, 78 Lo -1,73-0 .  These were some of my notes without me digging the thing out and firing it up.  Mine works fine without the progressive meter configured.  It still lights up I think it sits on zero and does nothing but the machine WILL function.  The configuration for the progressive can be programmed from a few of our vendors here for the complete operation.   I will dig out some more notes and pull the actual machince and confirm the settings as time allows.  Thanks B.

When you perform a complete saferam clear, don't set the progressive settings.  Option 2 should be 0000 or off, option 7 should be 0000 or no progressives.  There's no reason to set 78 when not using a progressive.  You can pretty much just set your limit settings and printer settings if there is one in it.

Thanks,
Wayne

Would be a shame though to not have the progressive running?  Ship me the Mikohn board Ford and I will charge the battery and re-program it for him.  I can mail it direct back to your friend to reinstall.

What I posted was to set the machine as non progressive.  To program the progressive is another thing.

Have a great night,

Thanks Jim. I'll mention it to him and see which way he wants to go.

Here's my 11d settings after the clear if it helps you in the field Ford (this assumes progressive is running - Otherwise follow Wayne's comments on the #7 setting) (also some unnecessary settings, but ones I like added):

Machine with coin mechanics:

9 = 4

2 = 4

7 = 1

78lo = 1

51 = 9999

54 = 0

56 = 160 (set this for max you want the hopper to pay out, anything higher goes to hand pay)

58 = 1000

73 = 0

61 = 1

81 = 1

69 = 0  (assumes coin acceptor is by Coin Mechs Inc.) (use 69 = 1 if by IDX)

Machine no coin mechanics / hand pay upon cash out:

9 = 4

2 = 4

7 = 1

56 = 0

51 = 9999

58 = 1000

78lo = 1

73 = 0

61 = 1

81 = 0

Got it running today. He did not want to do anything to progressive now so I set it up like a regular without progressive.
It would have been nicer with progressive but he said maybe later. It's his machine to do as he wants.
Thanks for offer Jim & all you guys that helped. +1 (Karma, or whatever)
