replaced a printer in a bally 6000 and the power supply when it came up I tested it and after i hit cashout it came up with a error 36 tried switching printers checked dip switches and wires with the same type of machine and everything looks the same but i cant seem to clear the error and i have never seen this one before can anyone help?

make sure you have the paper in the right way, than push and hold the reset button on the mpu board ,for 30 sec release reset close door all should be well
ps make sure machine is on when doing this  Duh!

checked the paper and tried your suggestion but still did not work after the reset as it goes to cash out and then that error comes back.

The 5x just means that the code shows when the door is open.

When you say you changed the printer, did you change the entire unit, or just the pull out section.  The ribbon cable or the board at the back can go bad also.

Was the printer working in the other machine?
