At least two of us are being truthful Rob got a 122 and I got a 90 (without my glasses) First and third ones gave me trouble.

Desided after about 40 years I was tired of wearing glasses. Everyone needs to take notice I travel the wideopen Highways, if you see a dark BLUE Peterbilt coming toward you, get out of the way,the Driver doesn't give a S*** what color car he hits.   arrow arrow

I got a 61. But I think using certain displays like a LCD make it more difficult to distinguish between them.

In my case, I've done the test on an LCD laptop and consistently tested weak in the turquoise/light blues (scoring 8 the first time, and between 6-12 in general.) If I try it a couple of times on a good CRT and get the same results, then I'll know that I have trouble with those colors, if not, then I'll know it's my LCD. Tongue Out

Your score an 8 and your weak?? Are trying to give me a complex!  Crazy
Did the test twice and both times a 27, and it's all in the turquoise area too.
Wife did the test and she got a 27 also. (LCD laptop)

They should overlay a number on each tile after the test to show the exact position, the bar graph just don't cut it.

I didn't mean it that way. arrow I've always had a good eye for color. Sherlock Smiley   What I meant was that I seem to be weak in distinguishing that specific narrow range of colors -- IF it's not because of my LCD screen. That's potentially useful information to have when I'm color correcting and balancing photographs in Photoshop or trying to compare colors in that range.

They should overlay a number on each tile after the test to show the exact position, the bar graph just don't cut it.

Professor One trick is to open another tab with a new instance of the page and just click on "score test" without doing anything, like Ken (OhioGaming) did. It will clearly show each pair of anchor colors with no bars, thus separating the four sections for you. You can then move between the two screens to figure out exactly which tiles you placed incorrectly.

From what I can tell, it seems that the height of an "incorrect" bar not only signifies how far the tile is from it's correct location, but also the degree to which it differs from the neighboring tiles.

I scored an 8.  Maybe I'm not sure how to read the results graph?  All of the white bars were even with each other, and all were very low on the color bar that was displayed.  I am using an LCD monitor, and I'm not sure how that might have affected my results -- a lot of them were "too close to call" for me -- I did my best to put them in order.

I believe that the lowest non-zero score occurs when you swap two adjacent tiles that would have otherwise been correctly placed. In other words, I don't think it's possible to end up with a score of 1.

If you scored 8, you should have seen something like 4 or 5 adjacent tiles in one location with one, two, or three-point bars, with the rest of the spectrum having only zero point bar "stubs." Mine were (from left to right) 2,1,1,3,1 in the turquoise section. Actually, I'm not really sure how they could have scored that way.  Scratch Head

So, do we really have an abnormal number of men here who have an above average ability to discern small color differences, or are we lying (probably not), or are most of the members who have scored poorly simply not posting their results? (probably) Tongue Out frying pan rotflmao rotflmao

<ADD> Actually, this is not a test for color deficiency (aka color blindness), but is a color acuity test designed to test how well one can discriminate very small differences in color shading. Still, color deficiency is much more prevalent in men than it is in women. The most common form, red/green blindness, is a recessive mutation located on the X chromosome. Since men have only one X chromosome and women have two, and since the trait is recessive, women would have to have the mutation on both X chromosomes to have the symptoms, while men only need to inherit the one mutated chromosome.

Women carry the recessive genes that creates the abnormality and pass it on to their offspring, so although they usually don't exhibit this form of color blindness, they are carriers. Some of the more rare forms of color deficiency are located on other chromosomes, and are equally likely in both men and women.
