Just started new project on this slot.   When I power it up BV cycles then I get the error 15 0 on the inside door says main ram error.   I'm a newbe so thanks for the help in advance.

ok did the ram clear and got the following message 19  1   then 11   1  then  31   1.   Shut system off then just power back on and now I get 31  1 then 13  1  then 11  1.

13  says power up
31  is an overpay
11  is low voltage

I tried to press the reset switch with no change in the display

13 will go away on first play so don't worry about it.  If you leave the machine on11 may go away.  31 reseat the hopper and if that does not work get some contact cleaner and clean the  hopper connection.  If that does not work uniman has a code 31 trick

make sure you get contact cleaner that is safe for delicate electronics and plastic.

did you see in this post http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=1058.msg76888#msg76888  where he shows you the sensor in the hopper output. I am curious if you have a bad power supply with the 11 sticking around.  Jim will probably have some thoughts.

what game is the machine?
Since the tooth picks have been done I am wondering if uniman has helped the previous wonder.  Is it up right or slant top?

That's too funny. I thought I was only desperate enough to use toothpicks.

The error 11 is serious though. And your reporting a 11 1 and a 31 1, etc. Sounds like bad board connection to me. Clean the mpu board pins and spray the backplane. With power off, of course. With the mpu pins wet with contact cleaner insert it in and out of the backplane a couple of times. Let dry and then power up with a ram clear. Make sure to put your thumb just under the board when performing the ram clear so you don't flex the board.
If the error 11 persists you have a power supply problem.

thanks again.  That will be tomorrows trials.    One other thing I figured out how to get the head off the bv but do I need the key to remove the transport from the housing?  Hope not, did not get one with the machine.

The keys for the bv transport were unique to the casino. No keys available that I know of. You have to drill it out or pry the top panel above the lock and remove the nut holding the latch. Or, just leave it.

The 13 is ok, normal. And a 19 after a ram clear is ok too. But the 11 is not. If seen for about three seconds and then goes away, ok. But if it persists it is an indication of a voltage problem.
I've never cleaned the transport.
To get it out you have to disable that lock. To do so you need to remove the entire bv case from the machine.
I happen to have a transport locked in the case on my garage shelf. So here is a demonstation on how to remove the lock.
Pry open the plate pictured below with a screwdriver.
Use needlenose to loosen the small nut. It won't come off, no room yet.
Then use the needlenose to loosen the large lock retaining ring.
Pull lock forward and finish removing the small nut, locking latch and pull the lock out the front.
Push the metal plate down and your done. Transport can now be pulled out.

Thanks for the photos.  The 11 will not go away so I assume the power supply is bad or can it be something else. Someone said jim might have one.   Not sure who jim is.

Power supply would be most probable. But there is a lot of things that could cause this problem. Check the power cord for rips or crushed areas. I've had seen a lot of that. It could be a wiring issue or it could be an issue with the mpu.
What are the four led's on the front of the board doing? Do they flash at the same time or do they go left to right then right to left?

Almost forgot, I'm Jim

When I got home today I had to clear system again to get it to start.  The LED go from right to left then back left to right.

Yes they are gone.  I found your article on the small blocks of wood to hold in the mpu.  I have to make them yet, but that is the issue.  I now close the door get the 13 and 51, but if you drop a quarter in nothing happens just drops thru.
