Here's any easy way to tell what you have:

1.  If your sound is like this, you do not have an enhanced sound SIMM installed on your board.  This is the generic default sound that ships with IGT S2000 games that DO NOT have a Multimedia Lite II board and sound SIMM installed.  It is normal to have the sound play through only one speaker as this configuration is mono sound and is only output through one speaker.

2.  If your sound is like any of the following three videos, you have a Multimedia Lite and a DSV00042 sound SIMM installed:

a.  Enhanced Sound

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/TsyrCkYeVHY&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/TsyrCkYeVHY&rel=0</a>

b.  Legacy Sound

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/2kTG1UpVlTg&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/2kTG1UpVlTg&rel=0</a>

c.  Generic Sound

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/BmcmirGdXok&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/BmcmirGdXok&rel=0</a>

If the DSV00042 sound SIMM is installed, any of the sound configurations per a, b, and c should be selectable options within the sound menu.  Stereo sound is a selectable option as well.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason, our Triple Stars sounds like the first video, the standard sound. The chip that was originally sent in the board sounded like "C" which is the one my wife prefers. Since my board sounded that way with the other chip, does that mean I should be able to change the sound with option menu? Thanks for the great video info by the way, Ed.

Ed, check out the following video.  If you have a DSV00042 installed on your board, you should be able to navigate the menus as instructed in the video to configure option A, B, or C.  If you don't see anything remotely similar, either your DSV00042 sound SIMM is not seated properly, or you don't have a sound SIMM installed at all.  If you aren't getting anywhere, snap a photo of your board upload it in a post, and we will be able to tell you if you have an MML II board and DSV sound SIMM installed.  Sometimes removing the sound SIMM and reseating it can resolve the issue as well, if it wasn't seated correctly to begin with.  If you confirm that the hardware is installed properly, refer to the video below.  Credit to Brianzz for the video.  Let us know how it goes!

I would like to send thanks to Yoeddy1, Cowboy, and all others who have taken time to post info to help with my Triple Stars. It is greatly appreciated. The NLG site seems to be made up of a bunch of good guys with a passion for keeping gaming going, willing to help others. Thanks again, the wife is very happy now, and so am I.  Thanks, Ed.
