Have a bad MOTHERBOARD (not the wiring - not the mpu  etc)  - problem is in the mother board -  get 7v to the receiving optic - but the emitter is dead.  traces "look" good - there isn't much on the mother board - so what would be the cause?  I am short on motherboards - bought a bunch of macihines with blown batteries and destroyed motherboards hence the need to try to fix one.

Scratch Head Scratch Head Barry maybe I'm all wet, but why would the receiving optic even need power ???? I admit I've never taken a meter and checked.

Looking at the schematic, I see that the Door Emitter Optic line travels down into the Motherboard through J3, then right back out through pin 2 of J10 (Door LED -), then it loops right back in again to pin 1 of J10 (LED +).
So the Emitter LED optic go's through 4 separate molex plugs by my count.  Any one of those may have bad pin contacts.  I would think that would be more likely than an open motherboard trace.
You might start by checking motherboard pin 1 of J10 to see if you have voltage there. That is the first point of exit off the motherboard.
