Mikohn connecting to machine help?

Being this started back in July 2012
I see this is still a work in progress for you huh

If you have no idea what psp settings are
you have some reading to do about the whole process.

First off you need the psp software and manual which can be
found in the download area

Install psp on a older pc that has a 9pin serial port
xp works great some people use usb to serial on newer pc's
but your mileage will vary on that.

Anyway you will also need a 9pin serial cable
with pins 1 and 5 jumpered on 1 end(many posts on this) with pics
The serial cable connects from the back of the pc rs232 serial 9 pin port
to J5 on the chamII+ board.

Then you would start up psp
enter password 135642 go into jackpot programming
and enter the correct values:
F3 = SNGL
F4 = M08
F5 = 3sec
F6 = JP0
F7 = $$$$
F8 = MS00
Enter the jackpot amount and increment you desire
send the info using F1 key and whammo
you will have a jackpot amount on the display.

You must also flip the switch and use padded buttons on the cham board
to select SA mode..I suggest you download the Mikohn manual.

No more C1 or $000
problem is if that battery is low the next time you power up
that progressive display you will be back to $000

If the cham has been turned off for over a year
and given it's age I would also change out the battery

So with that all being said here is a link to the

basic soldering skills will be needed of course.

Proper machine settings in the Bally menu
and proper cable between cham board and machine is also needed

Really this is a simple process to program one of these
just do some reading many threads on this very topic.

Trust me when that display lights up with the progressive amount
you will be hooked.

I know I am coming in on this a little late but did you make sure you have the opto isolator installed on the backplane in socket U1 of the game.
use Opto 4N35
Also I have 30 or 40 of these cables if anyone needs a few.

The Bally game had a two piece harness.
this is the harness that connects to the game and terminates in a 4 pin square connector that you can connect either the Mikohn harness or Paltronics harness to.
It connects to the EVO, S5500 and S6000
It is the same harness pictured earlier in this thread.
