Hey there,

Does anyone know the proper sound chip for this machine? and where I can get one? It has one in it now.. although it will not play any sounds when you hit spin-spin-2x, or spin-spin-3x.. but if you hit spin-spin-spin, and spin-spin-double pay.. then it has the correct audio playing..

thanks

Steve

Try straightening the pin near the 03 on the label at the edge opposite pin 1 (the small dot) if not we may have another one for it

Hey thanks.. I will have a look in the morning.. I didn't see the bent pin today.. You have a good eye.. I will let you know if that was the issue.. Does anyone know if the code on the chip actually go to this game?

Well I did give it a shot.. I took the chip out and tried to straighten that pin.. Being my first time working with this kind of chip.. it was a bit of a mess I should say.. The pin has left the chip forever.. and the machine no longer has any voice of it's own.. Sad

If anyone has a chip please let me know..

Thanks

(I don't know if it even was the right chip to start with.. possibly could have been if the bent pin was stopping it from operating properly?  I will never know.. )

Hi Steve,
I have one, email me...  The bent pin would have it to not work at all, not the incorrect sounds.

Thanks,
Wayne

the pin CAN be soldered back on if you tin the post first then glob some solder, let it cool and carefully stack or even tape the broken pin or a peice of metal near the same size on top of it. Then apply the iron to the bottom side of the pin, just until it melts into place.
Remove the iron in a quick jerk while staying parallel to the pin

I'm not saying that it can't be done, but this is not a DIP chip, it is a TSOP48.  The pins are very fine, and the heat can affect the chip if you're not careful.

oops
thought it was a Dip,

Your best bet would be to solder a jumper wire to it
or radios shack sells conductive glue goop stuff that is great for these little problems
