I bought a Double Double Bonus Poker machine last week in pretty good condition but in my infinite wisdom and wanting to clean it up I broke the legs off the Bet One Credit button. Does anyone know the best place to buy the insert with the legs on it or for that matter a complete new button set to replace all the buttons since all the plactic is pretty brittle.

Thanks

Tim

I found this but was unsure if I should go with the 6V or 12V LED or the 6V(86bulb) Plus the price seems a little bit high too

Tim-

You need 6.3v (#86) bulbs for your PE+ buttons.  You can go the LED route for sure, but get the 6v ones.

That said, steer clear of Happ unless it's a last resort.  Their prices aren't cheap, and they tend to really screw you on shipping (search for "happ mystery shipping" here for details).

Your best and first bet should be to post in the NLG classifieds section (here).  Post what you're looking for and one of the vendors or other members may have the buttons you need.  Since the PE+ used different buttons on uprights vs. slant tops vs. bartop drop-ins, and different style buttons depending on other factors, it would be best to include a picture of your current button set to make sure that you get what you're expecting to get.

I bought these http://na.suzohapp.com/pushbuttons/77kit401.htm VP buttons and the issue I am having is when I try and hook them up there is a piece of plastic on the new button that wont allow the connector to slide all the way on. Also my old buttons had what looks to be a green connector, possibly a ground that the new button doesn't have

Any thoughts would be helpful

Hi Tim,

According to your earlier post, you included a link to PE+ buttons and knaql gave you good advice for PE+.  In another post in the Coin Comparitor section, you had said you purchased an IGT slant top (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=17050.msg165854#msg165854 ), but the latest link you attached points to Game King Bar Top and Upright. Therefore, I think you might have purchased incompatible buttons. Duh!

You're right in that the green wire that is serially connected to all of the buttons is a ground to the machine's cabinet.  In newer Game King buttons, these are not needed.  I think you can get away with removing them in a PE+ as well, but imho, I would get the right parts.  Perhaps someone else on this forum can advise you that's used different buttons before. Scratch Head

In the meantime, I would listen to knagl's advice and post pictures of your machine.  Kevin is incredibly knowledgeable and is a senior here at NLG.  By posting pictures, you can be better advised to the right parts to buy. yes

FWIW, the green ground wires on the PE+ buttons do exactly nothing. On the original buttons, the metal ground post goes into the plastic of the button, rendering its grounding properties useless.

Pictures as requested. (1)

Coin Comparator and new buttons that are not compatable.

I would be willing to trade these for a set that works or buy a set from you.

Pictures (2)

Picture one is the type of Button hookup I need. The buttons I purchased don't have a place for the green ground and do not fit completely onto the connector.

I am needing the lock that releases the hood to expose the monitor and guts

The picture you posted is the correct comparator for a PE/PE+ machine. ( CC 16   24 volt ) The two spade contacts for the light bulb on you new buttons. Bend them a 1/16 of a inch. Problem solved.

Tim  You ask the question and in replies 1 and 4 you got your ansewer.  If we have what you could consider a expert on PE+ machines, knagl  would fit those qualifications.  If Kevin tells you that you don't need the green wire, take that to the Bank, you don't need the green wire. Besides one of those other two wires going to the light bulb is a ground,

Indeed, please re-read my reply #4 above.  Those green ground wires essentially go directly into the plastic of the old buttons (look closely at your old buttons and you'll see what I'm talking about).  I'm no electrical engineer, but I can say with a great deal of confidence that plugging a metal ground wire into a hunk of plastic doesn't do much of anything.
