Quick question for all you pros out there...have been trying to clear a coin-in jam (machine is coinless), and there were credits that were on the machine that never got paid out due to a printer malfunction.  The printer comm error cleared, but the coin-in jam started.  The deck buttons and credits displays are dark, and I can get into the configuration menu, but cannot navigate (stays on Accounting).  Boards and connections have been checked for proper seating.  At this point, should I try to clear RAM with a clear chip, or is there something else that I should try first?  Already did the open/close routine a bunch of times too.  Reels and netplex set up fine, but then goes to that hard stop right away.

In side the main door, look for the large molex connector that would be the connector to connect the coin comparitor mechanism if one was there.  There should be a jumper wire plug plugged in to that connector.  If it is just a bare molex connector, that is your problem, and you will need to locate your jumper plug.

When this jumper is missing, a coinless S2000 will not clear from the coin error.  Just had this happen to me yesterday, so fesh in my mind.  My plug had fallen out, and I could not clear the error no matter what I did until I figured out what had happened.

That jumper is intact (there is no coin comparitor).  Is there a chance that the door I/O board is bad and could be causing the error?  I didn't notice any lights on that board when installed, and the displays and buttons are dark.

Did the reseating.  Ordered a new I/O board for the door just in case.  Noticed that my candle is out when the I/O board is plugged in and powered up, but when disconnected and powered up, my candle flashes.  Starting to really suspect a faulty board.  Either way, I will have that part by next week, so I will clear it first, then swap out the boards and see...any other ideas?

OK.  Swapped the door I/O board, no luck in clearing the coin in jam.  Molex jumper has been checked and is intact.  Still no coin displays or deck button lights.  All other main components have been looked over and reseated.

At this point, should I try a RAM clear (97) to see if that can reset it?  I am running out of options...  Any other suggestions?   Scratch Head

Thanks to everyone for your help!

does it try to reset when you close the door? if so, try the clear, you really have nothing to lose

Turned out to being a bad 7-seg display on the door.  Swapped it out, did a 97 / 17 clear and reset, reconfigured machine type and WAMM, and I'm back in business!

Thanks to everyone for getting me pointed in the right direction!
