I wonder if WOF is popular because it can't be owned.......

I never liked WOF -  don't know why.

That's part of it  I just like it because of the sound effects.  I was a big fan of the show growing up so I'm a sucker for the chant "Wheel Of Fortune!!!!"

I wouldn't think so because I was a fan of the WOF slot way before I started collecting. I still play it every time I'm in a casino. One day I will hit the "1000" and then I will probably never play it again! LOL...

Yeah, I forgot about the Deal or No Deal Slots.  Some of them can be quite expensive to play though.

Yeah, I think its the sound effects and the bonus wheel that gives it the appeal, maybe thats why I really like the super spin, cause its a reall big wheel!!  arrow

I agree. I liked WOF before joining NLG, and I don't even like the WOF game show all that much!  frying pan bust gut laughing  (I prefer Jeopardy and often tune into something else when wheel comes on).
It's all about the chant, the spin, and the other sound effects, and more recently, that BIG wheel. Tongue Out

That huge wheel would be cool in the house - the life size one they have with 8  or 12 games around it!

There was also a Jeopardy bonus top IGT game around that was very popular in the late 90's.  Does anyone have one of these?  I don't remember if they were an exclusive WAN progressive or not.

The Sopranos slot: If you win, there are no income taxes, but you have to give Tony Soprano his 30% cut, or they break your arms and legs and shoot up your house AND your kneecaps. If you lose on credit, then it's 130% interest at 2.5% weekly or they break your arms, legs and balls, shoot your kneecaps on the way out as an afterthought, and THEN take your car and business. boss  boss   angry-kitty

I should add machines that are realistically obtainable and would like to own:

1.  Flip Flop (S+ with anchor gaming top)
2.  A nicely working Odyssey.
3.  Bluebird cabinet with dual screens.

Now why would you want to curtail a perfectly good fantasy by bringing realism into it? arrow arrow

You know the Odyssey is a pretty innovative platform with great graphics and sound. I just don't think it had the market share to stay viable and support was rather lacking.

I used to love those white gloves with nobody in them dealing me three-dimensional cards!  yes yes

I also used to clean up on the Safe Cracker game by looking for machines that were short only one or, at most, two numbers. Then I'd play until I hit the bonus and leave the now empty combination to the tourists to fill in.
