if you have the 6-6-3 display you have to use the touch pad if you disable all the buttons it will re-enable button 1 for you.
To use a button you have to physically change the the displays to 5-5-2 and of course change them in the key config menu.

You can not use the button next to Max Bet with a 6-6-3 display
when you change the display to 6-6-3 in Key config Menu it looks for the touch pad and expects you to use it.
I ma in the same situation, I have a 6-6-3 and only the LED box. changed it from a long reel to short reel setup
I have to get the touch pad (its harness), etc.

If it is a vision machine and you have not changed the player button harness, you will not have the wires for the Multi-denom switch.
You can  look near your max bext switch and see if you have 4 wires with the connectors tied off.

I have been think about that on my model 2004, S-2000. What is this on the back glass? I know it only lights
up on the left top side of the 25 cent sticker (1/4 of the sticker). Sometimes when it is starting up the light moves
around all four locations and ends up on the left top one.

Wonder what else I would need to make it work?

I am looking for the same thing on my Triple 777 5 reel slot it is 5 cent now but I have the window that looks like you could change the denom to what ever. I would like to have 1cent 5 cent 25 cent 50 cent can this work....

You have to have several things to make it operate as a touch pad.
1. 6-6-3 Coin Meter.
2. Copper colored touch pad under the reel glass.
3. The small harness that plugs into the back of the light box to the copper colored touch pad.
4. The correct SG chip that supports Mult-Denom.
5. Version for Multi-Denom.
6. Set-up in Options 7.1.1.3 and &. 7.1.2.

A picture of the back of the door showing your touch pad light box would help.

Only problem I see you might have to change the minimum denomination to get your
1, 5, 25, 50 cent demon. (requires a clear and key chip)

What is your chip number on the  SG chip? That will determine key chip needed.  Key chip temporally
replaces the SB chip to turn on your options. After, you replace it with your SB chip to excess
your options.

To change less than 5 cent denomination you will need a Clear chip which will require
resetting all your options (somewhat hard if you are a newbie).

You can purchase a Clear and the Key Chip with instructions and the Denom sticker
from one our vender's at the top of the home page.

PSR reads that you will need keychip 31 or it's replacement.  i recommend Jim at blueridgeslots but there are several others who can provide you with the keychip; lots of vendor links at the top of the page.

Ok the chip is on its way I did get the clear chip with the package so we will just have to see when I comes....
I also found the proper progressive unit and software so I will have a lot of work to make all the things work....

  Ok mine is working now 1 cent 2 cent 3 cent 5 cent Thanks for all the help.
One thing that I did find out for all others that our working with the Multi Denom setup ... Make sure you have all your credits clear on your machine I had a time with that one.
If it is set proper with your key chip it will come up in key chip config mode after the machine resets that is the only way you can make changes to the base chip. Next I will be setting  up my Charm II like the machine had at the casino. I just hope I have all the parts..
