Regarding my post on the HEAVY IGT slant top I found on CL: I thought I could "pivot" the thing from a dolly to the back of an SUV. I was SO WRONG. I couldn't hardly slide the damn thing on the dolly, much less pivot it into the back. Thankfully there was someone next door that came out and helped me. Otherwise I would be in the hernia club! I'm still amazed how heavy the slant tops are. The former owner told me that when he first released the front door, it fell and BROKE his toe!

No, you're not. I was also surprised that the price was that low. After all, the standard professional lifts like the one Joey uses are almost as much.

I wonder how reliable they are? I wouldn't want to be stuck alone on a job with a 100 gallon water heater or a 300lb slant top halfway up/down a flight of stairs when the motor or battery gave out.  Help

They had a cool video that described the mechanics of the unit and stuff about the battery... Aparently it has a special feature that you can do down with the gearing if the battery is dead. I really do want one!!! I am just way toooo broke, and am having a hard time to justify even thinking of something like that! I am starting to believe in Santa again! santa claus I will keep on dreaming!!!

I'd like to have one as well. It would make it possible to move heavy items without roping in one's friends. frying pan

I didn't look that closely into their line, but would one need to purchase two different models if one wanted to both climb stairs and lift the object high enough to put into the back of a truck?

I'd definitely like to have one of those things as well, I thought they would be much more than $1800.

A couple things bother me about that ad.

First, he says, "Conversion kits (IGT and Williams) - change the game when you want - $350 value," but he doesn't list what extra kits he's providing. Personally, I wouldn't swap out a Barcrest game, anyway. Wms DOT kits are typically worth a lot if they're desirable titles. Why not mention the title(s)? They can also be tricky to swap.

Second, the pictures of the two Wms are stock shots. What's wrong with the ones he's selling? You can see a piece of a second machine in the shot of the Barcrest on the carpet. I guess his camera broke after the first picture and he couldn't move to the left to take the next shot. arrow The Barcrest isn't turned on, either.

Third, he says:

Quote
Price to sell. Check out these sites to view retail price (www  californiaslots DOT com, www  slotmachinesusa DOT com). All three in excellent/working condition and priced to sell! These are from my private collection as I use to service/repair/buy&sell slot machines.

Again, the hard sell with links to other websites, a statement that the machines are in excellent condition, and a boast that he has the skills to provide working machines, all without showing pictures of actual working machines. Scratch Head

Of course, it may turn out to be a good deal. I could be wrong.

Oh I'm not buying them... I like tinkering on machines as much as I like playing them so I'd rather buy machines at a discount and work on them/clean them up. It seems like it could be a decent deal if (like you said) the games were popular ones. I'm building a built in in the basement wall to put machines on so I wouldn't need the stands and I bought and redid a few bar stools (3 for $5) that I found in a yard sale so I wouldn't need the chairs.

I guess if you were looking to fill a basement and didn't have anything already, it might be a worthwhile purchase.

This is what you need to rent.

Man alive, yes I do.  I have two slots and a pinball machine in my parents' basement -- I totally need one of those things.  I wonder if any of my local rental places have them...

Jackpot Party and Winning Streak are popular. I'm just wondering why he has no pictures of those machines and why he wouldn't disclose the extra kits he's offering "free." Something just doesn't add up. Still, if it's legitimate, it seems like a good deal. He's also offering to throw in parts.

IGT's been making them for quite some time for the overseas markets.
I'm not sure if Bally got into the Paschislo market though...
Most of the regular IGT slot machines we see around the U.S.
are made with parts from overseas anyways.  ttth

In the guy's defense, it is a Pachislo made by IGT.  Not what I would have expected when I clicked on the name, but IGT is a small player in the pachi market.

I guess I should have been wearing my glasses while looking at this ad on my smart phone, the pics shows IGT tag, heck I can't see everything on my 17" laptop screen sometimes.. I've seen these posted as IGT before but just figured the seller didn't know what they had just like listing them as antique or authentic / real slot machines. I have taken notes for the up coming quiz. I will now go eat my dinner so I can get ready to watch the Tigers/Yankees game. Go Tigers!!!

This is by far the most blatant and also stupidest ad I've EVER seen. The seller must have the intelligence of an amoeba. I'll add the link but also post the text in case the ad gets deleted. It's a Japanese pachislo, by the way. I'm speechless at the stupidity. Everyone, please comment!
