I just sent an email to knagl...
you know he's been dying for one...!!!

I appreciate the heads-up.  I did finally get my kit put together, and thanks to r273 I even have a bracket for my light bar, so I'm all set.

That said, if I was close enough I'd snap that up in a heartbeat!

I think I've seen that machine pictured before -- red laminate on the roundtop, wrong reel glass, etc.  I'm not sure if it was the same seller or not.

I called the number and the guy who answered said "Hell NO! I don't have any slot machine for sale!" Obviously a bad joke on someone.
I have found machines on Craigslist in Vegas are just as high as anywhere else.

That goes back to what knagl said about seeing that machine somewhere else before...
I saw it too when I think about it -
when I was researching for all the parts to put one together.
I wonder how many telephone calls he got because I was certainly gonna call him... rotflmao

I was gonna ask him to pack the glass and strips and a few extra parts for good measure...
heck, scrap the cabinet - it woulda cost me an arm and a leg to ship my way...LOL

Found a Bally GameMaker in Minneapolis for $800 on Craigslist.  Not a steal, but not an awful price, either.  It appears to have an embedded bill validator.

i am in vegas and we contacted  this ad. the guy sounds like an older guy (sorta grumpy sounding) and they dont want to sell to just anybody. you have to have a DOJ LICENSE.  not letter. if i am not mistaken here in vegas that makes you a broker to have one of those. costs last i heard around 400k. (government wouldnt take my personal check for the amount. lol) but anyhow number you call sometimes is returned with incorrect number  by operator and other times it rings. name is capado something. i recall that name a few years ago. possibly something to do with legal issues. evidently has 2 warehouses of machines and  parts.  but like i said he is only interested in selling to a DOJ license holder. still looking into it more.

I guess the DOJ letter is really not a license.............it is just a statement that you are complying with Gambling devices act of 1962. It specifically states on it that you can't do anything that is not in accord with Federal, State, or Local law. Which brings us right back to the beginning............what does it do that not registering would do (or not do)??? I could be wrong and my opinion is not a legal rendering. But I wish someone would just jump in here and try to clarify in English what a DOJ is...... and aint.

There's a PE+ slant top video poker machine on Craigslist in Minneapolis for $250.  It's got a bill validator, too.  Not too bad, but I personally don't have room for a slant top.

Saw this ad on Craigslist this morning for anyone looking for slot glass.

This is NOT my listing and I don't know the person selling:

It looks like the two award pieces in the front have high denomination glass, and I know that most folks around here prefer three-coin kits over two-coin kits. Even so, it could be a good deal for the right person.  yes

Thanks for sharing. applause I gave you a K+

I just spotted a nice-looking upright Bally GameMaker with an embedded bill validator for $400 in Las Vegas:

http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/for/1529260286.html

(Click to make the picture a little bigger and less blurry)

...ooh, and a bartop with a bill validator for only $250!  (Same seller, based on the phone number in the ad.)  I'd jump on that in a heartbeat if I was out there:

One more -- a flip-card draw poker machine.  I've only seen one of these before, and it wasn't this one (the one I saw had a small monochrome monitor in it).

http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/for/1519626084.html

Not a steal price by any means, but an unusual piece of gaming history.

Edit:
Okay, last one for now, I promise.  It's a PE+ video poker machine put into a custom cabinet.  According to the ad, quarters come out of the lion's head on the front bottom of the machine:
