Need Help: Wiring an IGT Topper to an S+

I have a really nice IGT flat top topper that I would like to hook up to my S+, however it is an S2000 topper and
I need to know the voltage requirements etc, so that I can make an adapter for the molex plugs etc.
I have heard that it has been done, but I am at a loss at where to start on this project...

Inside the topper you should see 4 or 5 wires.
That is if it does not have the Spectrum II progressive.
These three wires should be going to electronic ballast for Fluorescent light
Green is protective or chassis ground
Orange +25VDC
Black with orange stripe Ground or negative for 25V

These 2 should be going to LED chaser board.
Red +13VDC
Black with red stripe Ground or Negative.

You should be able to use 12 and 24V DC without much issue

I've wired a few of these into S+ machines now, and there's not much to it.  I just use two wall wart transformers (the same type of transformers you might have to supply power to low voltage home electronics) for the power needs -- one 9-12vdc for the chaser lights (red wires, and 9vdc is more than enough for the LEDs), and one 24vdc for the flourescent bulb (orange wires).  They can be plugged into the service outlet in the bottom of the machine via a small extension cord if you'd like (although that's unswitched -- the topper will remain on even if you flip the machine's power switch off).

Just be sure that the wall warts output in DC voltage, or the magic smoke might escape from your topper.

I was just thinking the same thing.   Actually, my Mikohn ChamII+ progressive is plugged into the unswitched outlet inside my slot, so it remains on 24/7. The slot is plugged into a surge protector, of course.

I don't know, but I know it will hit the jackpot more often if you RAM clear your topper.

You won't know that until you buy it some RAM to clear first.   
I've heard that Topper is very hard to buy a gift for -- at least that's what the Kerby's told me.

I just finished wiring a topper to my S+. This thread helped me to complete this project. I haven't posted on this thread before so I will do my best. Two things I can add; first is I ran a power cord from the power supply at the bottom of the machine and used a 120vac toggle switch to interrupt the power source. To do this I had to drill a half inch hole to accommodate the switch. To keep the metal shavings from getting into the mechanics of the slot machine I taped an open zip loc bag at the bottom to capture the shavings as the drill broke through. For the top where I started the drilling I kept a shop vac running to suck up the shavings as I drilled. This worked pretty well. Since I have a chop top (9") machine there was not much room to drill the hole. Since I don't have an angle drill, I had to drill the hole at an angle which made the hole larger than I wanted. To fix this I just used a washer with a half inch hole. I have included a pic showing the toggle in position. Second, instead of using the candle light provided on the topper which is a powered by dc voltage and would mean another transformer, I moved the candle light from the S+ to the topper so I could just plug it in. I did have to extend the wires from the candle for it to reach the plug in the machine. I have included some pics. I hope this helps someone else to tackle this project.
