Bally S6000 Cash Wheel Error code 38

I have an error code 38 on my Bally cash wheel. Can anybody tell me where to start looking for the problem. I have used a clear chip and reprogrammed the machine but I still get the error. Any help would be great. Found error printer out of paper. Thanks all.

Looked up code  38 ...   field service manual  showed  a   5-  38   code:   Printer out of paper.  Are you using  a ticket printer ?   Do you have it (ticket printer) set on or off in your options set up ?

That's all that I could come up with...  maybe someone else has another   idea / solution.

Printer is set to work one time than go to hand pay.

My luck with getting a Bally  ticket printer to work  like  the IGT's  hasn't been too good.   I've only been able to get the pinter to print one time...and then the machine just goes into a default.   Maybe my Mains weren't compatiible  with  Ticket Printer,  Cash Wheel.. etc  etc..  If you need the machine to always print a ticket...then,  I'm no help..

I'm a little puzzled with your  setting:   " Printer is set to work one time, then go to hand pay "   

You can set the machine to be totally "hand Pay"...   when you cash out.  Do you have a hopper ?     Coinless ?     
Maybe someone else has the solution to your  desired settings.

disconnect your printer and set it up for no printer.  Your printer likely doesn't have the correct firmware or another error which causes the code erroneously
