Buzz,

Would one of these 12v regulated power supplies that output 12vdc work to power the unit  ?  I am just wondering how many amps and watts should be on the power supply ? And also, how you get all of the wires attached to one positive or negative output on the power supply ?  Obviously, electronics has not been a forte of mine...

I finally got around to wiring my  garfield and getting him up on the wall.  Now I don't know how many people live in earthquake country or on a  CaptainHappy Worried out in the swelling seas but I found this bracket at Lowe's and it does a great job of holding  garfield in place.  Pics attached.  yes Maybe you will like it maybe you won't but thought I would share anyway.  Gotta love the leveling device they give you but I did realize that  garfield is lower on one side than the other so putting the bracket on  garfield was as easy as raising the right side until it was level.  While I was at it I got another one of my toppers cleaned up and running too.  It's Yahtzee.  Today was topper day  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

Enforcer, I'm not Buzz but thought I would chime in anyway.  wave  I looked at that link you posted and I would think that would be too big.  I went to Salvation army and bought a used transformer for $1.27 and cut the end off it.  It originally went to a phone charger or something.  I would also think you could get away with something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/DC-Power-12-Volt-3Amp-Adapter-LCD-Monitor-for-HP-3A-12V_W0QQitemZ130307229925QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Electronics_Batteries_Chargers?hash=item1e56ea88e5&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Som is the guy that took the picture that I posted and he said he checked the amps on it and said that you can get away with 3 amps.  I think mine is 1.5 amps tough.  I don't run any of my machines for too long, maybe a couple hours, so this topper wouldn't be on long either.  I figure if it burns out then I'll just replace it with another one.

enforcer  Does this quote help?   Bunker and I were kicking around trying a old cell phone charger. ( I have a drawer full of them ) I hooked up a 9 volt AC for a short time. it seemed to work OK    You can always tap into 12 V inside your slot machine.

Buzz... wave  A big thanks and K+.  garfield, it must be dinner time because he showed up at my front door.

Ashyron... Thanks for sharing the pic. Going to double check the amp. draw on DCV but with all LED's,the small transformers will be great.

MrBellMan, I actually was going to mount  garfield on Crystal but decided it would look better separate.  All my other toppers are separate so  garfield should be too.

Ashyron... Thanks for sharing the pic. Going to double check the amp. draw on DCV but with all LED's,the small transformers will be great.

Railroad94, I got all my information from Som.  From what I understand there was a bigger amp draw on the 12vdc but the lighting was better on dc.  I didn't notice anything bad on the 12vac power that I am using,  I thought the lights looked fine.  I hope you get your  garfield up and running.  Oh wait,  garfield does run for anything but lasagna.  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing  Remember to show us all a pic.  Tongue Out

how you get all of the wires attached to one positive or negative output on the power supply ?  Obviously, electronics has not been a forte of mine...
Thanks,
enforcer

Enforcer, were you able to figure out the wiring?  If not, I can take a picture of my wiring job on my  garfield and show you.  Basically I used wire nuts, one for positive and one for negative.  I'd be happy to take  garfield off the wall again and show you some pics.

Great looking room!!!  Do you know the dimensions of the Garfield ?

I measured it yesterday and it is roughly 21 inches across by 21 inches high (including the candle) or roughly 16 iches for just  garfield without the candle.  Here is my game room right now.  I have to share it with the washer, dryer, extra fridge and freezer but still all worth it.

All connected.

And on a side note, you shouldn't have to take your garfield apart.  I had to because I had it all wired already and I had already made a plastic bracket to cover the whole on the bottom.

Lemme know if you need more help and I'll try to help more.
