Ok. These things are REALLY starting to drive me nuts ! I have 3 Coin Comparitors ALL are CC-62-D. I have one 5000+ slot which takes coins fine. I tried ALL 3 of these extra coin units in my working machine and THEY ALL WORKED ( so I know they are good ). BUT.....when I put any of them in my other 5000+ the machine will not accept any coins with any installed mech.

I did notice on my working machine, the "INSERT COIN" light is lit. On the other machine which I am trying to get to accept coins, the "INSERT COIN" light does not light at all ( and yes, I changed the bulbs ). I also can't seem to do a clear on this other machine ( pcb dated 1989 ) either with the Psudo button or clear chips.

If I phyically hold the coin acceptor solenoid lever out while in game over, the machine will recognise a coin and start play. EXTREMELY strange. I need your expert advice.

 Thanks,
 Dave.

Follow that wire>>>coin acceptor solenoid lever <<<  from the solenoid to wherever.
Make sure it's not broken or pinched anywhere.

I believe there is a toggle switch on the front of the CPU board marked "coin-in" (may be exact)  pretty sure this switch controls whether it will or will not accept coins.  Check the way the toggle is set on the working machine, then make sure it's that way on the other machine.  Good luck

Again, all 3 of these mechs WORK in another machine of mine. No broken wires.

On the coin-psudo pcb there is a switch with 2 positions on it. ENABLE and DISABLE. Both machines are set to ENABLE.  THere are quite a few jumpers on the 5000+ MPU, but I have no idea what they do as they are not marked.

Check to make sure the door switch is working.  It wont accept coins if it thinks the door is open.

Thanks,

Yeap. Did that also. I held the door switch in with my finger then tried to insert a coin.

 No go.

YES and NO.

Answer NO: I did not figure out why the machine would not accept any coins -or- light the "Insert Coin" bulb in a "NORMAL" operating mode.

Answer YES: Not so correct solution was to tie pins 1&2 together at J4 of the Psudo Coin pcb located on the front door. **BEWARE ! ** If you switch the coin enable switch to disable you will fry the trace from pin 1 of J4. Trust me, I did it !

This allows coins to be accepted BUT ( BUT ).....you can put more than the 3 coins maximum in the machine which may/can cause a coin error. BUT IT DOES WORK ! Even if it's not the correct way to do it.

FYI  -- I have had alot of experience with the 62-d comp.
its used in bally's

but also used in UNIDESA slots made in spain
the 62-D---- some are a universal comp. which will accept a nickel to a 1.00 token -- yes you read that correct ..

Yepper. That's exactly what these coin units are. I've adjusted these already but it still wouldn't take a coin in this particular machine ( read above posts where I mention trying it in another machine and worked. )

I have now?? -- about  --30 -plus of them in stock -new and used .

if you flip it upside down you can adjust it to take the SAMPLE SIZE COIN YOU INTEND TO USE ---"THERE IS A MINI RULER ON THEM " if its not set correct it will give crazy readings in a UNIDESA AND A BALLY !!

it took me about 15 minutes of trial and error to adjust the slide in the back to get the sample token/coin to work .
once you have one and see it you will pick up quick what I am saying  !! if not a picture is worth a thousand words !!
