hello,
I have changed my IGT S+ game ( proms game & reel).
But i have a problem with the bill validator.
After game and reel eproms installed on the cpu board, game worked perfectly. Bill validator was off. Here, It was correct.
I have replaced Game eprom by Set Chip#15 and validate option 9-1, and the denomination on 0.50C (like before).
Again, game eprom placed, bill validator activated, but,now,  it do not recognises any bill !   Help
The bill is eaten, but after 1 or 2 seconds, it is rejected. My bill acceptor is an IGT IBA4 EURO bills. (i live in France).
Could you help me for this problem ?
Thank you so much for your help.

The Game chip you installed does not use the same IDO protocol BV software as what you removed, easy to fix, if you have changed to a different game type than you will need to leave that Game chip in (say from RWB to Haywire), but if just changed from say a RWB to a 5 X Pay, use the old Game eprom, if you have a WBA Validator, just turn Dipswitch 1 on the BV t, these are generic instructions not knowing what you have, if you post what BV you have and what Game Chip number you removed and replaced with we could be more exact, you said IBA4 BV is it a WBA? say WBA-21 0r similar?

Well, the original game was a DOUBLE BLACK TIE. I change by RED WHITE BLUE DELUXE.
I tried to replace older game proms (DBL BLACK TIE), but the problem still the same.
My BV is effectively an IBA4 From IGT and accepts only EURO bills. ( see picture).
RWB eprom game is : SP0731 ; Dbl Black tie is : SP0856
Thanks for your help.

The chips that contain the game data are NOT the game chips. They are called reel chips.  The SP chip is the game chip. Your RWB Deluxe is a Type 5 game, and your Dbl Black Tie is a Type 0. Most Type 0 SP chips support types 1,4, & 5 as well. I don't have the data for the SP856, but if it was working for your Black Tie, it will almost certainly work for your RWB Dlx.

Put back your old SP856 chip (the game chip) with your Double Black Tie SS chip (the reel chip) and enable the dbv with the set chip. It should work.

If the original SP chip (that was working) didn't solve the problem (and you tried it with the IBA Dipswitch in the original position) then I'm going to have to defer back to Blueridge.

I would hold off on a full clear until you get some more advice from him or another member who knows more about the European DBV setup.

By the way, your SP chip is not a Double Black Tie game chip; it is an SP856. It can be used with any games that are of the types that it supports (probably 0, 1, 4, & 5).

Hi

If your BV is activating it means that the machine has been set up correctly and the machine is telling the BV to enable and take notes. Do you have documentation for your SP version ? Does that particular SP have a bill limit setting and if so is it higher than the denom of bills your are trying to insert ? Do you get any response with the BV test in test mode ?

Hi

Power down and check for bent pins on processor board. Also check wiring from BV to backplane board. Lastly go throuh all your input tests  and for check for Inputs that are high that should not be high. Because the I/O are all muliplexed this can cause issues.

Hi

Yes There is- Not 100% sure but i think you can only change it with a set chip. Dont know what Set Chipworks for your software (If you have a PSR it will tell you). For SP1213 which is also international version I use Set111. I have attached the info for this chip.

PSR shows a SET 19 for the one you replaced, but that chip had BV comm errors and a Corrective Notice was I would go back to the SP731

SP856

IGT utility program SET019 is required to modify the denomination, to enable/disable the bill acceptor, to modify the token value, to select the country code associated with the bill acceptor

Bill Acceptor   Acceptor model is jurisdiction-dependent, and uses bill validator software protocol version 2.4.

Credit Type
Selection  <0> [5]   The credit type cannot be changed if there are credits accumulated.  Options are Standard Euro credit {1}, Euro noncredit {2}, Nevada-style credit {3}, Nevada-style noncredit {4}, Lottery-style credit {5}, Semi-Euro credit {6}, Token credit {7}, or Semi-Euro credit II {8}.

Country Code Display [20]   This page is displayed only if the bill acceptor is enabled.  Displays the country code associated with the bill acceptor.  Can only be modified using the set-chip.  Options are:
Argentina {01}   Germany {14}   Morocco {26}
Australia {02}   U.K. {15}   Norway {27}
Austria {03}   Gibraltar {16}   Poland {28}
Belgium {04}   Greece {17}   Portugal {29}
Brazil {05}   Guernsey {18}   Romania {30}
Bulgaria {06}   Holland {38}   Russia {31}
Canada {07}   Hungary {19}   Spain {32}
Columbia {08}   Ireland {20}   So. Africa {33}
Cyprus {09}   Italy {21}   Sweden {34}
Czechoslovakia {10}   Jersey {22}   Switzerland {35}
Denmark {11}   Luxembourg {23}   Turkey {36}
Finland {12}   Malta {24}   U.S.A. {37}

For now i have checked CPU board, plugs, pins, ... everything seem ok.

Well, CS#111 and CS#019 seem very similar.
I spoke with an Autrichian Casino Technician, and effectively, he uses #019 to setup its machines.
But now, big question : where i can buy a chipset#019 ? I have to try it, i think....

On the top of the home page are large squares which contain links to slot machine vendors.
Have you tried contacting any of them?
There's is also a "Classifieds" section of NLG located in
the Forum Index listings where you can place a want ad.
Vendors frequent those listings to try and help out people like you!  yes

It takes the bill  in then pushes it back out?
Have you tried cleaning the optic lens with some warm water and a clean cloth?
Don't use alcohol-based cleaners.
