When it you hit the big one
Mikohn shows Jackpot and the amount in red single pixel characters.
and the word Current and the base amount in yellow (word Current is 2 pixel characters)

I have a linked progressive as my primary, and the IGT as my secondary.
You need a 1271.... 731 won't handle this config.
The Set90 chip is needed to setup the progressives with 1271

If you don't have the PSR for the SET90 this is a must....but once you have it, its a simple walk through.

Running a 1309 chip and do have the set 90 and psr for both.
Had to put the display in second port on the board 65 if I remember right. works nicely

But the thing is why did IGT think a linked primary progressive had to be repeated on their internal Progressive display, unless the controller was just doing the progressive tracking
ie base, current, max, and increment values only and not running a progressive display itself.  the things that make you go hmmm.

Oh if someone has the board but missing a critical component let me know. the 27c?? part.

If I set the denom to 1.00 and the increment to 99.99% max that IGT allows will it loose that .01% over time or will it care. I want the IGT to increment by 1.00 every credit or coin

Is this a Mikohn Sign/Progressive Controller?

The logic IC's are gone unless they are TTL or line drivers usually.
that includes the EPROM, EEPROM(Flash), NVRAM (CMOS)
CMOS is very unforgiving of an overvoltage condition.

It is the board that plugs in the display with the double pin arrays (all surface mount components) and the power connector and the ribbon cable from the CHAM11+

ah, the piggyback board on the display.  You are almost better off just buying one.  April had some displays not too long ago for around $15.00 each (that's both pieces).  Then you can just reverse engineer.  It's not a terribly complicated circuit.

Hi all,

I just hit the jackpot at home.

Obviously very pleased especially as I now have the progressive up and running and it was also the second time I've done it, just need the Diamonds and the Spades version to complete the set

I have a question though.

The progressive hasn't reset back to the starting amount. I think this maybe because it was running the demo.do message and not the jpot message at the time, using the MFILE0 setting.

Would this be the reason?

Paul

is that a Cham II+ or what?

Sounds like your serial communications and jackpot signal was not configured in PSP properly

I am guessing that it communicates the same as an S+

You set the setting on the PSP progressive setup page to these settings

F3 SNGL
F4 M-08
F5 3sec
F6 JP0
F8 MS08

Those setting work on my Cham II+ with an S+

Foster,

It is a ChamII+.

Thanks and I'll change the settings to those you've shown. I thought they were like this, but I had a major problem a few days ago whilst I was playing with the messages and probably reset everything.

Rick,

Where can I find the 'Jackpot Signal' setting?

Of Course I was very lucky to hit this jackpot so soon after installing the ChamII+, but is there a way of checking/testing the jackpot reset?

Hey Paul,

What kind of machine is the CHAMII+ connected to (FortuneII, PE, PE+)?  I see on the screen it says "Jackpot" instead of the Progressive Value.  If it were a PE+, it would be in two way communication (unlike an S+ which is only from machine to prog).  The poker screen should also be displaying the current Jackpot amount instead of the word JACKPOT.   This would normally indicate the link is down.  That is typically what happens when you have the PE+ set for linked Jackpot and then it doesn't get a signal back from the contoller.

I have a full disc of ALL kinds of goodies that you can use.       There are some 1 X 3 demos on the disc I sent you with your EBAY stuff but no 2 X 3 stuff. Have a CONII to run the progressive totals to your supreme? Also....do not forget to provide some cooling for your 2 X 3. Both my 1 X 3 and my 2 X 3 have cooling fans. I have your address and I will get you a copy burned and send it to you. Has over 50 graphic and multiline displays on it from Atlantic city casinos. Tim

Thanks Tim.

I never expected this thing to work.
I purchased a Supreme with a hole burnt through it, and did some creative wiring around the damage.
The regulator was blown completely off the board, so I used the power supply I purchased for you to get 5v to it. (sorry, your chamII has been tossed to the side for now).
The lights came on and no more smoke, so I quickly rigged a com cable, and IT WAS ALIVE! Still had data on it!
I plugged in a display, and there were words on it!
Then I plugged in a second, and it worked also, but things were still chopped off on the right side, which I thought was odd because the Supreme was marked 1x2.
I had to make another power cable, and plugged in a third. I had a 1x3!
Then I started to play with it.
I found the internal register was set to 3 panels wide by 4 tall, and I found that by changing the font size, things were chopped off at the bottom.
So, I had to scrounge more wire and build some more power cables, and really had to dig deep for the last 10 pin data cable, but all 6 displays are working!

Now I need to make some brackets to hold it all together, and build a frame around it, and a cabinet to mount it in, and add some cooling fans, etc, etc.

No, I don't have a CONII to run it yet, I guess that's now next on the list.

Doesn't look like much, loose in a pile, but I'll get some pix posted.

Thanks again.

Heres some pix.
I routed around the damaged primary display connector, and made the secondary the main.
One jumper for power, and its running.

CJ,

Sorry for delay in getting back to you.

The machine is a PE+ as far as I'm aware. It is set up for progressive, but there is no setting on the machine to say linked or standalone.

The ChamII+ is a standalone version (sorry if this is stupid and they are all standalone!)

The other way to do this is to use Supreme boards. These will run you more money. The nice thing about Supremes is that you download graphic files into them then use your controller to superimpose the text and values of the progressives over the background. Idesign has this configuration.

Unlike the Cham1boards which require a LED4 everything you need is right on the supreme boards.

The ChamII+ can drive the supreme nicely but this limits you to a single machine.

The linked configuration for this requires a CON2 (a CON1 can't drive a supreme). They tend to be expensive. When i was first looking they were $1200 but I have since seen them for much less. I am not sure if the CON2 talks directly to the Supreme or if it requires a CON2 in the middle.

If I read this correctly, I can use a ChamII to drive my Supreme?
Or is it better to get a Con2?

What is the version number on your game prom ?????

Ozzy,

Numbers on the prom are 554 544 and PP0116

Motherboard  has MB78070 75703201 Rev C26 if thats any help.

It would be good if I can get rid of the word Jackpot on the screen so that it matches the Progressive.

From what I know with the Mikohn setup for a stand alone or even link, to get the amount to show on screen you not only need the coin in/jackpot, machine ID, but you require the serial return wire connecting. Pin 2 of the PE+ J12 if using ChamII+. If the connection is bad or non existent you will get only "JACKPOT" displayed on screen and not the current jackpot amount. The connection on the ChamII+ is on J7, pin # eludes me mate

With the machine software you should have the option to set "Stand Alone or Linked" progressive, you should first select "Progressive" then further in the menu it should give you the option for Stand Alone or Link Progressive. Once choosen the  required option all settings are then through PSP.

cheers

Ozzy,

I'll have to take a look at the programming again on the machine, but I can't do at the moment as I've sent the screen away for the cap kit to be fitted. Fingers crossed its ok.
